Giants vs. Cowboys Point Spread: NFL Week 10 Odds, Prediction
The Cowboys are coming off a 28-23 loss in Philadelphia last weekend, but have been dominant at home, where they have won 11 straight overall and claimed victory by an average margin of 26 points in three wins this season. The Giants saw their lost season go from bad to worse in last week’s crushing 30-6 loss in Las Vegas. New York lost quarterback Daniel Jones to a season-ending injury in that contest, adding further insult to a dismal four-game road losing streak in which they have scored 10.8 points per game.
The Cowboys have charged to massive 16.5-point favourites on the NFL Sunday odds. The Giants have sagged to distant +1000 underdogs on the NFL moneyline, and the total is pegged at 39.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
It has been a tale of two seasons for the Cowboys, who have struggled on both sides of the ball while going 2-2 on the road since romping to a 40-0 victory in New York in Week 1. However, this team has been red-hot on home turf, averaging 37 points per game while giving up just 33 total points during a 3-0 start. Overall, Dallas has averaged 34.4 points per game during their 11-0 run at home. In addition to powering a steady 9-2 ATS run, the Cowboys’ high-scoring has generated a boon for bettors taking the OVER, which has paid out in seven of eight games.
The Cowboys have also owned the Giants in recent head-to-head action. With their 40-0 win in Week 1, the Cowboys have now topped the Giants in fiver straight clashes, and 12 of 13 since 2016. Seven of those victories have come by double-digit margins. However, three of their past five meetings in Dallas have been settled by just one score. In fact, while Dallas has won outright in 12 of 13 while favoured by at least 15, they have covered in just three of the past 10. Conversely, the Giants are 4-1 ATS in their past five when pegged as underdogs by 15 or more points.
New York Giants
Daniel Jones’ return to action last week proved to be short lived. Previously sidelined by a neck injury, Jones saw his season end because of a serious knee injury. And with versatile backup Tyrod Taylor also sidelined by injury, the Giants find themselves with no choice but to turn the offence over to rookie Tommy DeVito. The undrafted rookie held his own in last weekend’s trial by fire, tossing for 175 yards and one score against two picks after taking over from Jones, but received little help from his offensive line while getting sacked six times. Now faced with a ferocious Cowboys pass defence, which has allowed more than 250 passing yards just once this season, DeVito is likely to lean heavily on Saquon Barkley, who has generated over 100 total yards in three straight games, but has failed to run for a score in his past four outings.
Dallas Cowboys
The big challenge facing the Cowboys will be not looking past their sad-sack division rivals in Sunday’s clash. Dallas has enjoyed fast starts in their three home games to date, outscoring opponents by a combined 34-6 margin in first-quarter action, and has allowed an average of just 7.3 points per game before halftime. Home cooking has been particularly good for Dak Prescott, who has tossed for 820 total passing yards and seven scores in three home appearances. That is reflected on the NFL player props, where Prescott is listed as a short -155 bet to record multiple touchdown passes. However, the Cowboys cannot underestimate a sturdy Giants defensive line, which has not allowed a scoring pass in the past two games.
