Giants vs. Commanders Week 5 Betting Odds, Prediction and Picks: Washington Favoured With Daniels Set to Return
The records of these two NFC East rivals may be polar opposites through four weeks, but it has been a rough 2026 campaign for both the New York Giants and Washington Commanders heading into their showdown on Sunday afternoon in the nation’s capital.
New York is 3-1 but has suffered a slew of injuries, including to quarterback Jaxson Dart. Washington is 1-3 after losing in London to Indianapolis this past weekend.
The Commanders have swept the head-to-head series in each of the last two seasons, winning four straight over the Giants by margins of three, five, 15 and eight points.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends
The Commanders come in as -3.5 favourites (-110), making the Giants +3.5 underdogs (-110). On the money line, the home side is -185 and the visitors are +155. The game total is set at 43.5 points, with both the over and the under priced at -110.
Dating back to the 2024 campaign, Washington is 4-0 against the spread in the last four head-to-head meetings. It is also 3-1 in its last four home games. New York is 5-1 ATS in its last six overall. The over is 12-4 in the Giants’ last 16 contests and 7-1 in the Commanders’ last eight. However, the under is 3-1 in New York’s last four trips to Washington.
NFL Player Odds and Props
Jameis Winston – Over 210.5 passing yards (-115)
With two games under his belt following Dart’s injury, Winston heated up last weekend. The Florida State product completed 18 of 29 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. He was picked off twice, but taking the bad with the good is all part of the Winston experience. The 32-year-old has a favourable matchup on his hands against a Washington defence that ranks No. 25 against the pass (242.5 yards per game) with 11 touchdowns allowed through the air compared to just three interceptions.
The Giants’ secondary has been fantastic through four weeks, giving up only 205.3 passing yards per game (10th fewest in the NFL) on 6.2 yards per attempt (sixth fewest). New York is tied for first with six interceptions. Washington will probably attack on the ground, which would point to a steady workload for Croskey-Merritt. JCM has gotten at least 16 carries twice this season, only failing to reach that mark in games during which his team trailed significantly from start to finish.
New York Giants
Not many teams – if any – have been hit harder by the injury bug than New York in the early stages of this season. Dart is out for the year with meniscus and MCL issues, while the injured reserve list also includes star linebacker Brian Burns, cornerback Paulson Adebo and receiver Calvin Austin III. Receiver Braxton Berrios announced on Tuesday that he will be done for the year because of foot surgery.
On the bright side, head coach John Harbaugh’s squad is coming off back-to-back victories over Tennessee and Arizona. Its only loss this season has come at the Rams, the preseason Super Bowl favourites.
Washington Commanders
Starting quarterback Jayden Daniels is expected to return for the Commanders on Sunday. The former LSU standout suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 2 that was originally thought to be more serious, but it looks like he is good to go. Improvement in Daniels’ health comes at just the right time, too, because backup Marcus Mariota is doubtful after sustaining an MLC sprain in London.
Wide receiver Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is questionable along with RB2 Rachaad White (shoulder), although it sounds like the latter has a good chance of playing this week.
