Falcons vs. Panthers Point Spread: NFL Week 3 Odds, Prediction

After two road defeats, the Carolina Panthers open their 2025/26 home slate with an NFC South clash against the 1-1 Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Quarterback Bryce Young is back on shaky ground for the Panthers after posting five turnovers in the first two weeks. He’ll be going up against an aggressive, hungry Falcons defence that just recorded their most sacks in a single game in 16 years.

Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has done a solid job managing the team’s offence in the first two weeks. Will coach Raheem Morris unleash him against the Panthers this weekend?

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Atlanta is a six-point favourite on the NFL odds with a current moneyline price of -275. They are 1-1 against the spread so far this season, covering last week in a 22-6 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Carolina’s moneyline price is at +220. The Panthers are also 1-1 ATS this year, covering last week as a 6.5-point dog in a 27-22 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Over/Under is 43.5 points. Atlanta has played to the Under twice, while the Panthers have split their first two games.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons defence had themselves a field day on the road against the Vikings. The unit posted six sacks overall, the most for the team since 2009, with five coming in the first half. Atlanta’s 2025 draft picks showed well in the game. First-round picks Jalon Walker (one sack) and James Pierce (0.5 sacks) both reached Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy, while Billy Bowman Jr. and Xavier Watts each had interceptions.

Atlanta forced three turnovers and only allowed Minnesota’s offence into the red zone once. That was more than enough support for Penix Jr., who only completed 13 of 21 passes for 135 yards, but did not turn the ball over for the second straight week.

Carolina Panthers

Carolina will hope they get the Bryce Young that showed up for most of the second half last week. After turning the ball over on each of the Panthers’ first two possessions of the game, and with the team trailing 27-3 early in the second half, the 2023 No. 1 overall pick tossed three touchdowns.

Young finished the day with a career-high 328 yards passing, but he also went zero for seven on Carolina’s final drive with a chance to win after the team recovered an onside kick. Five turnovers through two games do not inspire much confidence, and veteran Andy Dalton is still waiting in the wings.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Falcons vs. Panthers?

Stud running back Bijan Robinson reached 100 yards on the ground after amassing 100 yards receiving in Week 1 for the Falcons. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry, totaling 143 yards against Minnesota. Tyler Allgeier added 76 yards and a touchdown on the ground as the Falcons rushed for 218 total yards.

That formula sounds like it might work again this week against Carolina. If the Panthers press the run, Penix Jr. can finally unleash some deep throws and bring the passing game into the mix.

On the other side of the ball, Atlanta’s defence is champing at the bit to get to Young behind an offensive line that will have two new starters this week. The Falcons and Panthers are trending in opposite directions, and Atlanta’s 27-13 victory this week will prove that yet again.
