Neither of these teams has looked good so far with Atlanta last in the NFC South at 0-2 and with a minus-38-point differential, while Green Bay is in a three-way tie for second in the NFC North at 1-1 but with a minus-14-point differential. It’s never too early to think of owning an early playoff head-to-head tiebreaker with a win Thursday, although the Falcons probably aren’t good enough for the playoffs.
Especially as they already have the biggest quarterback mess in the NFL. But the Packers are far from whole as their best defensive player in pass-rusher Micah Parsons is on the PUP list and thus can’t play before Week 5. Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs has yet to debut in 2026 due to some off-field issues.
The Packers lead this all-time series 19-17, including four playoff matchups, but lost the last one, 25-24 at the Georgia Dome early in the 2023 season on a 25-yard field goal with 57 seconds remaining. Green Bay blew a 24-12 lead.

Take Atlanta tailback Bijan Robinson for an anytime touchdown as he touches the ball a ton in that offence. Robinson scored on a reception in Week 1 but his entire team was kept out of the end zone in Week 2. Also like Green Bay QB Jordan Love Over 1.5 touchdown passes. The Falcons just allowed Carolina’s Bryce Young to throw for three on Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons
Has any team looked worse this season than Atlanta has under first-year coach Kevin Stefanski? But you can’t blame Stefanski that his team hasn’t had its No. 1 quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa or No. 2 in Michael Penix Jr. available yet to due injury. Third-string journeyman Cooper Rush started the first two games but was pulled in Sunday’s 34-3 home loss to Carolina. Rush completed 10 of 17 passes for 86 yards with two interceptions and also lost a fumble. Undrafted rookie Jack Strand took over late in the third quarter. Stefanski isn’t close to ready to naming a QB for this game yet. Atlanta’s team passer rating of 38.2 is the worst by any NFL team through its first two games since the 2019 Dolphins. Cornerback A.J. Terrell and linebacker Samson Ebukam both left injured Sunday and weren’t able to return.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers are fortunate to be 1-1 and not 0-2 as they pulled victory from the jaws of defeat Sunday at the Jets, rallying from down 17-7 in the fourth to win 20-17 in overtime. Trey Smack made the winning 26-yard field goal in OT to snap Green Bay’s six-game losing streak overall including playoffs. Amazingly, Green Bay became the first team in the Super Bowl era to win a game with under 200 yards of offence, at least 10 penalties and zero takeaways. Teams had been 0-38 with those numbers. That despite the Packers losing wide receiver Jayden Reed and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele to injuries on consecutive plays on the opening drive. Pass-rusher Lukas Van Ness made up for Micah Parsons’ absence with nine tackles (three for a loss), 1.5 sacks and four quarterback hits.
