Falcons vs. Jets Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction

The Falcons claimed a share of first place in the divisional standings with last weekend’s 24-15 win over the visiting New Orleans Saints, but have posted just one win in 11 road contests since September 2022. The Jets saw their recent offensive woes persist in last weekend’s lopsided 34-13 loss to Miami, and have now averaged just 9.3 points per game during a four-game losing streak.

The Falcons have emerged as a strengthening -120 bet to cover as 2.5-point road favourites on the NFL Week 13 odds. The Jets sport +125 odds on the NFL moneyline, while the total is listed at just 34.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Falcons saw their recent hard luck change with last weekend’s win over the Saints. The Falcons had fallen to defeat by a combined margin of just 10 points during a preceding 0-3 run, and have scored a respectable 24.5 points per game during their current 1-3 run. The Atlanta offence has also slowly turned the corner on the road, scoring 23 points in each of their past two away contests after averaging just 9.7 points scored in their first three road games of the season. The Falcons have also held the upper hand in recent dates with the Jets, winning six of eight meetings since 1989 while limiting New York to just 17.4 points per game, and just 20 points in each of their past two clashes.

After raising hopes during a 3-0 October run, the Jets have returned to familiar form, and have been outscored by a 109-37 combined margin during their 0-4 slide. Home cooking has provided little benefit, with New York losing six of their past eight home dates. The Jets’ vaunted defence has shown cracks, allowing 24.5 points per game over their past four dates after allowing just 16.2 points per game in their previous six.

Atlanta Falcons

It was far from a stellar day for Desmond Ridder in his return to a starting role in last week’s date with the Saints. The Falcons quarterback has a stingy defence to thank for covering up for his two interceptions. Ridder atoned for his first two picks in four appearances by leading the Falcons on a pair of late-scoring drives to earn the win. Ridder still has work to do after throwing for just one touchdown over his past three starts, and has failed to complete a scoring pass in six career road appearances, but managed to record two scoring runs over his past three road dates.

With the Falcons passing game faltering, Bijan Robinson has taken on a larger role. The rookie rusher has produced, topping 100 total yards and tallying two scoring rushes and one TD catch over the past two games. Robinson also offers good value as a -115 bet on the NFL player props to generate OVER 80.5 rushing+receiving yards on Sunday.

New York Jets

With Zach Wilson’s days in the Big Apple likely numbered, journeyman Tim Boyle is poised to make his second straight start for the Jets on Sunday. The 29-year-old made the best of a bad situation while completing 71.1% of pass attempts for 179 yards, one touchdown, and two picks. However, Boyle was hung out to dry by a porous Jets offensive line that allowed him to be sacked seven times and has let Jets passers get sacked 23 times over the past four games.

With Boyle likely to be on the run against a Falcons pass rush that has recorded nine total sacks over their past two road games, and with rain in the forecast for game time, the Jets will be hoping that top rusher Breece Hall will be able to overcome a hamstring injury that has limited him at practice this week. However, Hall has taken a step back since racking up a career-high 177 rushing yards in 31-21 win in Denver in Week 5, averaging just 28.6 rushing yards over his past five games.
