The Bills reclaimed the top of the divisional standings with last weekend’s 33-21 win in New England, and now enjoy their first two-game win streak since Week 5. The Falcons are coming off a narrow 20-16 win over Detroit, and arrive in Buffalo on a 5-2 straight up run on the road.

The Bills have maintained the support of 55% of sports bettors since opening as 14-point favourites, and have since improved to 14.5-point chalk. The point total has endured wild fluctuations since opening at 44.5, bouncing between 44 and 45 this week before settling back at 44.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Highmark Stadium marks the first meeting between these two teams since 2017. The Bills escaped with a 23-17 victory as 8-point road underdogs last time they faced the Falcons, snapping a four-game head-to-head winless streak, both straight up and against the spread. The total has failed to top 40 in three of past five meetings between these teams, with the OVER going 3-2 during that stretch.

The Falcons have emerged as road warriors this season, with five of their seven outright wins, and five of their six against the spread victories, coming on the road. However, scoring has coming at a premium. The Falcons have averaged just 14.7 points over their past seven outings, fueling a 6-1 run for the UNDER. The Bills have won and covered in back-to-back games while averaging 32 points, and have gone 3-1-1 against the spread this season while pegged as double-digit chalk.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons enjoy good health going into Sunday’s clash with the Bills, but it remains to be seen whether that will translate into a boost in offensive production. The offence penetrated the Lions red zone on just two occasions last week. The team has also struggled after recess, scoring an average of just 5.3 second-half points over their past six outings. Matt Ryan has been far from prolific. The Falcons’ veteran quarterback has tossed for just four scores against five picks over his past seven outings. He also failed to rack up 300 passing yards in seven straight outings for the first time since the 2010 NFL season.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills were finally rewarded for their recent character play with last week’s impressive road win over the Patriots. The team has now averaged over 30 points per game over their past three outings, and wasted no time burying opponents while establishing double-digit leads before halftime in each of their two recent wins. Quarterback Josh Allen is coming off one of his finest performances of the season. Allen connected on three scoring passes while recording 314 yards in New England, and has now tossed 13 touchdown passes over his past five outings.

The Buffalo Bills can take a huge step towards clinching a second straight AFC East title when they play host to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17 action. Isaiah McKenzie stepped up in the absence of receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis last weekend, compiling a career-high 125 receiving yards and one scoring catch. However, Beasley and Davis are both expected to be available after being activated from the COVID list earlier this week.
