Falcons vs. Bengals Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
Being .500 is more of a surprise, in a good way, for the Falcons who entered the season with a win total of five and some of the longest Super Bowl odds at around +25000. Cincinnati’s suffered all of their three losses by three or fewer points, but now have a favourable four-game stretch upcoming that also included Cleveland, Carolina, and Pittsburgh.
Kickoff at Paycor Stadium starts at 1 p.m. EDT and it’s the home Bengals 6.5-point favourites on the spread and the total at 47.5 on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Atlanta is aiming to become the fifth team in NFL history to start 7-0 against the spread. Ironically, the Falcons are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against an AFC North opponent. Cincinnati’s an elite squad ATS as well, covering in 12 of their last 14 outings. When it comes to the total, the under is the trendy play. It’s 10-1 in the Bengals last 11 games and 10-5 in Atlanta’s last 15. The under has also connected in both of the Bengals home games this year.
Head-to-head, the Bengals have won five of their last six versus the Falcons and the over is 6-2 in the last eight Atlanta–Cincinnati meetings.
Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta continues to be one of the NFL’s top rushing teams. The Falcons rank third in rushing yards per game with 165.2, and only Philadelphia runs the ball more than Atlanta so far. The Falcons do it by committee too, with five ball-carriers carrying the rock 40 times for 168 yards in their 28-14 win over San Francisco in Week 6. The Falcons didn’t commit a turnover too.
Marcus Mariota only threw the ball 14 times, but was extremely efficient by completing 13 of those attempts for 129 yards and two scores. Caleb Huntley led the Falcons with 16 carries for 59 yards as main feature back Cordarrelle Patterson remains out with a knee injury.
Cincinnati Bengals
Ja’Marr Chase’s first 100-yard performance in five weeks came at the perfect time for the Bengals. Chase’s 60-yard score just after the two minute warning ended up as the winning points in Cincinnati’s 30-26 victory at New Orleans, the first time Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow returned Superdome after winning a college championship as LSU teammates.
Burrow passed for 300 yards for the second time this season, throwing three touchdown passes as well. The aerial attack put the Bengals back in the top 10 passing offences this season, ranking eighth now with 248.7 passing yards per game. Atlanta also gives up the second-most passing yards at 281.2 per game.
