Falcons vs. 49ers Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction

Both quarterback Brock Purdy and tight end George Kittle were both limited in practice Wednesday, which is a good start. Purdy’s missed four of the 49ers games this season, but it still hasn’t prevented the 49ers from holding top spot in the NFC West at 4-2 thanks to some spot duty starts at QB from Mac Jones.

The rollercoaster that is the 2025 Atlanta Falcons hit a new height last week when they defeated Buffalo 24-14. This comes two weeks after falling 30-0 at Carolina, but if the Falcons can build off this Buffalo win… they’ll be a dangerous club week in and week out. And they’ll be especially dangerous if Bijan Robinson is going off for over 235 yards from scrimmage, a feat he accomplished in last week’s win.

Kickoff at Levi’s Stadium goes at 8:20 p.m. EDT with the 49ers a -135 moneyline favourite on home field. NFL oddsmakers have the 49ers -2 on the point spread, and the over-under at 47.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The long trip to the Bay Area hasn’t done Atlanta many favours in past trips, as the Falcons are just 3-13 in their last 16 visits to San Francisco. It’s just the Falcons third road game this season and there’s one thing in common thus far: one offence has a horrific day. In Week 2, Atlanta came out of a Minnesota with a 22-6 victory but then got shutout the following week in Carolina and lost by 30. On the NFL odds board, the Under has hit in five of Atlanta’s last seven road games.

The 49ers are 1-1 at home this season but 1-5 against the spread in their last six home outings. Prior to last week’s 30-19 loss at Tampa Bay, all of the first five 49ers contests had finished as one-score games. Three of Atlanta’s five games this season have been double-digit games.

Atlanta Falcons

Football doesn’t seem so hard when the task is to get the ball in the hands of Bijan Robinson. The 23-year-old running back had a career day last week with a tying his high of 170 rushing yards — 81 of which came on a career-long touchdown run — and then finishing with a career-best 238 total yards. Robinson wasn’t the only difference maker in the 24-14 win at Buffalo on Monday, as Drake London went off with 10 catches for 158 yards and a score. Quick math has the duo of Robinson and London totalling 396 yards and two touchdowns… pretty, pretty good.

On the other side of the ball, Atlanta’s pass defence is coming together as a full unit. They currently have the second-best completion percentage against this season (57.69%) and held Josh Allen and the Bills to just 180 yards on Monday, intercepting him twice too.

Left tackle Jake Matthews, who has the longest start streak in Falcons history and the longest active streak in the NFL, was listed as out on Atlanta’s initial injury report. Matthews left at halftime of Monday’s game with an ankle injury.

San Francisco 49ers

If Purdy and Kittle do return to the lineup this week, it’s still hard to argue the 49ers are a better team entering Week 7 after their latest injuries. All-Pro Fred Warner was the latest to go down and the news isn’t good: Warner is out for the season with an ankle injury. Warner joins All-Pro defensive end Nick Bosa on the season-ending injury list, putting this defence in a tough spot. Suddenly it’s an inexperienced unit looking for new bodies to step up.

On offence, they’re starting to call veteran receiver Kendrick Bourne “Mr. 142” in the Bay Area. Well, not officially but Bourne has something going on with that number after posting back-to-back 142-yard receiving games in the last two weeks. And that’s after coming in for injured receiver Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings, and not to mention Brandon Aiyuk remains out of the lineup too. Jennings is questionable with the following: ankle, rib, and shoulder injuries… the life of a 49er. With Kittle out, Jake Tonges has produced well as the starting tight end — he’s no “Mr. 142” but Tonges has had exactly 58 receiving yards in two of his last three games.
