Eagles vs. Titans Point Spread: NFL Week 4 Odds, Prediction

The Eagles and Titans are underwhelming bettors with their offensive outputs so far this season. Things could get even uglier for Over bettors with Tennessee forced to start an injured Marcus Mariota at quarterback.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sports Interaction opened with the home side catching three points but the spread has grown to Titans +4. Tennessee is one of only four home underdogs on the NFL Week 4 betting board. NFL home underdogs are 9-4 against the spread so far this campaign.

The Titans are coming off a 9-6 win and cover against the Jacksonville Jaguars and are 4-0 ATS in their last four home contests. Philadelphia won 20-16 against the Colts but failed to cover as 6.5-point chalk. The defending Super Bowl champions are still 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall.

The Over/Under line opened at 42 on the Sports Interaction NFL odds board and it dropped as low as 41. The number seems to have settled at 41.5. The Over is 20-8 in the Eagles’ last 28 away games.

Philadelphia is in fourth place on Sports Interaction’s list of top favourites to win the Super Bowl. The Eagles are priced at +1100 to repeat as champions behind the Kansas City Chiefs (+900), New England Patriots (+800) and Los Angeles Rams (+425).

Philadelphia Eagles

The big story in Philly these days is the return of Carson Wentz. The man who led the Eagles to an 11-2 start a year ago had to watch from the sidelines as backup quarterback Nick Foles led the team to Super Bowl glory.

Wentz had an up-and-down performance in his first game back from major knee surgery last weekend. He completed 25 of his 37 pass attempts but totaled just 255 yards in the air and he had as many TD passes as INTs (1).

Philly fans are watching closely for the possible return of Alshon Jeffrey. The team’s top receiver hasn’t played a snap this season because of offseason shoulder surgery. He’s been cleared for contact but his status is still questionable for Sunday’s game.

Tennessee Titans

Marcus Mariota is the franchise quarterback in Tennessee but the second pick in the 2015 NFL Draft isn’t close to 100 percent healthy. He’s being forced into action because his backup, Blaine Gabbert, is in the concussion protocol.

Mariota relieved Gabbert last weekend and helped push Tennessee past Jacksonville. The Titans have scored just three offensive touchdowns in three games so far this season. That ties them with the Arizona Cardinals for the fewest in the league.
