Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams couldn't get anything going in Week 14. They look to bounce back against the reigning Super Bowl champs.

Second straight Sunday night game for the NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams as they welcome the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

No chance that Eagles-Rams was going to be “flexed” out of the Week 15 prime-time window by NBC as it features arguably the best team in the NFL and one-time Super Bowl favourites in the Rams and the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles fighting for their playoff lives. It’s not impossible these teams play again in the post-season as the Rams already are NFC West champions and battling the Saints for the NFC’s top seed (which the Eagles were last year). Philly, though, has to run the table and get help for a chance to defend its title.

The thought of the Eagles winning their first-ever Super Bowl seemed unlikely following a Week 14 43-35 victory at the Rams in 2017 because Philadelphia lost superstar quarterback Carson Wentz to a torn ACL on a touchdown run that was nullified by penalty in that game. Of course, backup Nick Foles filled in more than admirably the rest of the season, including winning Super Bowl MVP honours, to become a legend in Philly. The Eagles are 10-1 ATS in the past 11 meetings.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia’s playoff chances are on life support following Sunday’s 29-23 overtime loss in Dallas. The Eagles did well just to send it to overtime, twice rallying from down a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but they never got the ball in the OT as Dallas drove methodically down the field and won it on a deflected TD pass to Amari Cooper. The Eagles perhaps should have double-teamed Cooper occasionally as he torched them for 10 catches, 217 yards and three scores. That injury-ravaged secondary has been an issue all season. Philly is 1-5 ATS in its past six vs. teams with a winning record.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams didn’t resemble the team with the best record in the NFL or the Super Bowl favourites on Sunday night (they aren’t any longer) as their high-powered offence was completely shut down in a 15-6 loss in Chicago. Jared Goff looked like he did as a rookie, which is to say not good in completing just 20 of 44 for four interceptions. The California native has a history of not playing well in the cold.

MVP candidate Todd Gurley, who entered leading the NFL in rushing and touchdowns, was a non-factor with 28 yards on 11 carries. The six points were the fewest scored in Sean McVay’s two seasons as coach. It was his 79th game in the NFL, including playoffs, as an offensive coordinator or head coach and just the second time his offence didn’t score a TD. The Rams are tied for the NFC’s best record with New Orleans but lose the head-to-head tiebreaker.
