The Miami Dolphins were able to pick up another win last week in a potential Game of the Year nominee as they barely outlasted the Las Vegas Raiders. Ryan Fitzpatrick played hero but it looks like the Dolphins are again turning back to rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

NFL Week 17 Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The favorite is 5-2 against the spread (ATS) in the past seven matchups between these two teams . Buffalo has been really hot the last few weeks behind MVP caliber play from their quarterback Josh Allen. Meanwhile, the Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has struggled and may have trouble again this week against an improving Buffalo secondary.

The over is 4-0 in the last four matchups. Each of these teams put up over 30 points in their matchup earlier in the season.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have used Ryan Fitzpatrick as a type of closing pitcher the last few weeks. Whenever Tagovailoa has struggled, head coach Brian Flores has turned to his bullpen to get Fitzpatrick. It worked last week but when will this start impacting Tua’s confidence? We could possibly see that again this weekend if Tua is unable to bounce back from his latest poor performance. If Fitzpatrick does enter the game, you can expect more explosiveness on the offensive end for this team as he likes to throw it downfield a lot more.

On the other side of the ball, their defence should be relatively healthy entering this game and has been far improved compared to the last time these two teams met earlier in the season. Miami now leads the league in points-per-game allowed at 18.8.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been getting better and better as the season progresses and that includes a win on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots. They are blowing teams out and a lot of that has to do with the improvement of Josh Allen.

The Bills are rising fast as the playoffs approach as they’ve won five in a row. The goal for them will be to turn this into a high-scoring affair, which probably means the Tua-led Dolphins won’t be able to keep up. Nobody has been able to slow the Bills offense over the last month, so it’s hard to believe that the Dolphins will.
