Commanders vs. Rams Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
The Rams sit on the playoff bubble after a 37-31 overtime loss against Baltimore last week, while the Commanders are fresh off their bye week following a 45-15 beatdown loss against Miami on December 3.
L.A. is a 6.5-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, while the total sits at 50.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These teams haven’t met since Week 5 of the 2020 season. The Rams took that game 30-10 in Washington, with Jared Goff throwing for over 300 yards and two TDs for L.A. Alex Smith and Kyle Allen split the game for the Commanders, but they combined for just 111 passing yards. Goff is now Detroit’s starter, Smith is retired and Allen is backing up in Buffalo.
Washington has been a better team on the road this season as they are 3-4 straight up away from FedEx Field compared to 1-5 SU at home. They’ve covered the spread in five of those seven road games and they’ve hit the Over in five of their last six games overall.
The Rams thrive in the month of December, going 7-3 SU and 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 December games. L.A. hasn’t historically been good at home against Washington, however. as they are 3-7 SU and ATS in their last 10 home games against the Commanders since 1994.
Washington Commanders
Washington fell into a 17-0 hole in the first quarter two weeks ago and never really had a chance in the game. Second-year quarterback Sam Howell threw for just 127 yards with no TDs and one interception, although he did run in two scores on the ground. Howell was sacked three times to bring his season total to 58 sacks, which is 10 more than the next closest player. His 14 interceptions on the year is tied with Buffalo’s Josh Allen for the most in the NFL and he’s thrown a pick-six in three straight games.
Unfortunately for Howell and the Commanders, their defence is ranked dead-last in the NFL, so this game will need to be won on the offensive side of the ball. Per game, Washington is allowing an average of 379.8 total yards (last in NFL), 266.0 passing yards (last), 113.8 rushing yards (17th) and 30.4 points (last).
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams managed to cover as 7.5-point underdogs last week, but they blew the game in overtime. Quarterback Matthew Stafford had an efficient day, throwing for 294 yards and three TDs, hitting Cooper Kupp (game-high 115 receiving yards), Davis Allen and Demarcus Robinson for scores. Kyren Williams dominated the ground game, rushing for 114 yards on 25 carries.
L.A.’s offence has drastically improved. They’ve scored at least 31 points in each of their last three games, going 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in that stretch. The four games prior to that run, the Rams averaged 14.3 ppg and went 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS. Stafford and Williams have been key to the recent success. Stafford has a 10-1 TD-INT ration over the last three games, while Williams has rushed for 345 yards and three TDs.
