Last week, news broke that Commanders owner Daniel Snyder is reportedly looking to finally sell the team – fellow owners have wanted the scandal-ridden Snyder out for years but didn’t want to start a precedent of forcing one of their fellow billionaires to sell. I’m sure the sale – my guess is Amazon’s Jeff Bezos buys the team as he already has roots in Washington, D.C., as the owner of the Washington Post and a second company headquarters being built in the area – will be brought up on the telecast.

Philadelphia looks for the season sweep as it was a 24-8 winner at Washington on Sept. 25. Jalen Hurts threw for 340 yards and three scores and former Heisman winner DeVonta Smith had one of his best games as a pro with eight catches for 169 yards and a TD. The Eagles usually live and die with the running game but only had 72 yards on 30 carries. Carson Wentz wasn’t very good for the Commanders but won’t be under centre Monday as he’s still hurt. Washington played very well other than in the second quarter when it was outscored 24-0.

The Eagles are 7-3-1 against the spread in the past 11 meetings.

Washington Commanders

Washington’s three-game winning streak ended Sunday in a 20-17 home loss to Minnesota, blowing a 17-7 lead early in the fourth quarter. Greg Joseph won it on a 28-yard field goal with 12 seconds left. Taylor Heinicke threw for just 149 yards with two TDs and a pick. There was an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by John Ridgeway on the go-ahead field goal that allowed Minnesota to keep the ball and run 100 more seconds off the clock. Rookie receiver Jahan Dotson (hamstring) missed a fifth consecutive game and linebacker Cole Holcomb (foot) a second in a row. Pass-catching running back JD McKissic was out with a neck injury. The Commanders are 3-0-1 ATS in their past four games.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles remain the NFL’s lone unbeaten team following a 29-17 win in Houston on Thursday in Week 9. The 8-0 start is the best in franchise history. The Eagles are the 29th team in the Super Bowl era to start 8-0 and the other 28 all made the playoffs. Fifteen of those teams went on to win their conference and eight won the Super Bowl. MVP candidate Jalen Hurts completed 21 of 27 for 243 yards and two scores in his hometown. Philly also rushed for 143 yards. It scored on all four red zone visits and has a 70 per cent touchdown percentage inside the 20-yard line, fourth-best in the NFL. The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their past four at home.
