Commanders vs. Cardinals Point Spread: NFL Week 4 Odds, Prediction
The Commanders travel to the desert after turning in an historic performance in last weekend’s 38-33 win in Cincinnati, which also put the brakes on a five-game SU losing streak as road underdogs. The Cardinals are coming off a narrow 20-13 loss to the visiting Detroit Lions but have enjoyed strong defensive performance that have enabled them to limit opponents to just 15 points per game in their first two dates on their current three-game home stand.
The Cardinals lead the way as 3.5-point home favourites on the NFL Week 4 odds. The Commanders trail as +145 underdogs on the NFL moneyline and the total is listed at a lofty 49.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
This marks the second time in as many seasons that these NFC rivals have squared off. The Commanders eked out a 20-16 win when they host the Cardinals in Week 1 of last season to improve to 3-1 in their past four meetings with Arizona. However, the Cardinals have held the upper hand in the desert, topping Wahington in three of their past four dates at State Farm Stadium while averaging 26.3 points per game.
Recent clashes between these squad’s have been relatively low scoring, with the total topping 36 just once, fuelling a 4-0 run for the UNDER in totals betting.
Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels’ NFL breakthrough came in record-setting fashion in last weekend’s 38-33 victory over the Bengals. Selected second overall by the Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels powered the team to a second straight win while completing record-shattering 91.3 per cent of pass attempts while connecting on the first two scoring passes of his NFL career.
With Daniels flashing NFL Rookie of the Year form, the Commanders scored on six of their first seven possessions of the game and avoided punting all afternoon while going 5-for-9 on third down conversions and a perfect 3-for-3 on fourth down conversions. Overall, the Commanders have scored points on 13 of their 16 possessions during their current 2-0 run and have controlled the ball for over 70 total minutes in those contests.
Arizona Cardinals
While the Commanders were producing results with an aggressive offensive game plan, the Cardinals hit a wall in last week’s date with the Detroit Lions. Quarterback Kyler Murray struggled to spark the attack after leading a 70-yard scoring drive on Arizona’s first possession. The Cardinals drove into the Detroit red zone once following that first-quarter score, going three-and-out on three occasions and twice turning ball over the ball.
Despite last week’s setback, the Cardinals have made strides since winning just four games in each of the past two seasons. Murray has connected on five scoring tosses against just one pick so far, and rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has busted out in the past two games for 194 total yards and three touchdowns. However, Harrison has been limited at practice this week as he nurses a quadricep injury.
