Colts vs. Texans Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 12 Odds
Important game in the AFC South Division race on Thursday night as Week 12 in the NFL begins with the Indianapolis Colts visiting the Houston Texans. They are tie atop the division.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
If Indianapolis wins this game, it vastly improves its chances of winning the AFC South because the Colts would clinch the head-to-head tiebreaker over Houston, which is pretty clearly the most talented team in the division and has easily the South’s best quarterback in Deshaun Watson. Tennessee could also factor in the division race.
In Week 7, the Colts came out of their bye and knocked off the Texans 30-23. Jacoby Brissett was the best quarterback on the field that day and had the best game of his career, completing 26 of 39 (six of the incompletions were throwaways) for 326 yards and four touchdowns with a season-high rating of 126.7. Zach Pascal had the best game of his young career in catching six passes for 106 yards and two scores. It was Indy’s third straight win in the series.
Houston made things interesting on a 4-yard touchdown pass from Watson to DeAndre Hopkins, but a Colts safety with 2:41 left essentially clinched it. Watson was 23-for-34 for 308 yards and that touchdown but was picked twice and sacked three times. Hopkins caught nine passes for 106 yards and Kenny Stills had four grabs for 105.
The Colts are 5-1 against the spread in the past six meetings. The under is 5-2 in those.
Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis snapped a two-game losing streak with a 33-13 home win over Jacksonville on Sunday. The Colts’ first nine games of the season had been decided by seven points or fewer. Brissett returned after missing a game injured and threw for a score while also rushing for one. Indy torched the Jags for 264 yards rushing (most since 2004). Both Jonathan Williams and Marlon Mack had 100-yard games, but Mack also fractured his hand and is out indefinitely. Williams will be a popular fantasy football pickup this week. Mack leads the Colts with 862 yards rushing and seven rushing touchdowns. Safety Khari Willis suffered a concussion and won’t play Thursday, either. The Colts have covered six straight games vs. the AFC South.
Houston Texans
Houston fell into a tie first place in the division due to a surprisingly lopsided 41-7 loss in Baltimore on Sunday. That was the first time in Watson’s NFL career as a starter that he lost a regular-season game by more than eight points. It was also the first game of his pro career where he didn’t have either a passing or rushing score. He was 18-for-29 for 169 yards with an interception and lost fumble. To be fair, Watson was under siege the entire game, sacked six times. Cornerback Lonnie Johnson left with a foot injury. No. 2 receiver Will Fuller was out again with a hamstring injury but is being called a game-time decision for Thursday. Houston is 7-1-1 ATS in its past nine following an ATS loss.
