Colts vs. Cowboys Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction
America’s Team is back in the prime-time spotlight this week as the Dallas Cowboys host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night. The Cowboys are 9.5-point favourites on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
I would have said this was a potential Super Bowl 57 preview entering the season. Dallas is definitely good enough to get there, but the Colts have disappointed and already fired their head coach, Frank Reich. Indy is 1-2 under interim head coach Jeff Saturday, the former ESPN analyst. This game might have been flexed out of the Sunday night window if the Cowboys weren’t so popular.
The teams haven’t met since the 2018 season when the Colts beat the visiting Cowboys 23-0. Andrew Luck (remember him!?) was still the Indianapolis quarterback then. Marlon Mack (also no longer with the Colts) rushed for 139 yards and two scores. Dak Prescott threw for 206 yards and a pick, and Ezekiel Elliott had 87 yards on 18 carries.
The home team is 4-1 against the spread in the past five meetings.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts’ playoff chances essentially vanished – what little chance they had – with a 24-17 home loss to Pittsburgh on Monday night. Indy had trailed 16-3 at the half but took a lead late in the third on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan to Michael Pittman Jr., but the Steelers scored the winning TD with about 10 minutes to go. Ryan threw for 199 yards and also a pick, while Jonathan Taylor had 86 yards and a TD on 20 carries. There was some questionable clock management in the final minute by interim coach Jeff Saturday. The Colts are 7-3 ATS in their past 10 after a loss.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are on extra rest as they beat the visiting New York Giants last Thursday 28-20 to sweep the season series and keep their NFC East hopes alive – any chance to win that likely will come down to a Christmas Eve home matchup vs. division leader Philadelphia. Dak Prescott was picked off twice but had a pair of TD passes to tight end Dalton Schultz. Dallas also rushed for 169 yards and two scores. Over the past six games, the fewest rushing yards the Cowboys have had in a game was 134. NFL Defensive Player of the Year favourite Micah Parsons was in some question due to injury but had two more sacks and is second in the NFL with 12. Dallas is 7-0 ATS in its past seven December games.
