Chiefs vs. Seahawks NFL Week 7 Betting Odds, SNF Picks: Kenneth Walker III returns to Seattle

Add Sports Interacton as Your Preferred News Source

Week 7’s marquee matchup is a revenge game in prime time, as the only unbeaten team left in the AFC visits the reigning Super Bowl champions.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 after a 22-6 win over the Chargers, while Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 after back-to-back losses to San Francisco and Denver, the latter an overtime defeat in which Seattle out-gained Denver 353-168 but lost the turnover battle 3-0.

The emotional centre of this one is RB Kenneth Walker III. Seattle’s Super Bowl LX MVP left in free agency last spring after the Seahawks declined to tag him and he signed a three-year, $45 million deal with Kansas City in March.

He now leads the NFL with 665 rushing yards and a 6.3-yard average through five games, a 133-yard-per-game pace that would threaten Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record if he kept it up all year.

He’ll try to do it against his old team, which hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher in a franchise-record 35 consecutive games.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends

Seattle opened as a 1.5-point home favourite on the NFL odds and has moved to -2.5. They are also -145 moneyline favourites, with Kansas City at +125. The Over/Under sits at 42.5, the lowest total of any Week 7 game involving an unbeaten team.

The spread hasn’t been kind to Seattle this season. The Seahawks are just 1-4-1 against the spread as a favourite of 2.5 points or more, and they’re 1-3-2 ATS overall, including 0-1-2 at home. Kansas City, by contrast, has covered three of its five games by an average covering margin of +5.6 points.

NFL Player Odds and Props

Kansas City Chiefs

Walker has topped 100 rushing yards in four of his five games with Kansas City, including a 128-yard, two-touchdown outing against the Chargers last week.

Oddsmakers see him as roughly a coin flip to find the end zone again, but the far bigger question is whether Seattle’s run defence, which has allowed just 96.0 rushing yards per game on 3.5 yards per carry, can finally slow him down.

He currently carries -110 odds on his rushing yard total of 85.5.

Seattle Seahawks

WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 12 passes for 134 yards in the overtime loss to Denver and has emerged as Sam Darnold’s clear top target and one of the NFL’s best receivers.

Smith-Njigba projects as the focal point of whatever offence Seattle can generate, and his total receiving yards prop is set at 91.5 with -110 odds on both sides.

Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes has been quietly ordinary by his standards (1,309 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions through five games), and he didn’t throw a touchdown pass in the Week 6 win.

That’s a product of a receiving corps gutted by injury: Rashee Rice (hamstring) is trending toward a return but isn’t confirmed and Tyquan Thornton remains on injured reserve, pushing Xavier Worthy into the No. 1 role.

Travis Kelce played through an ankle injury in Week 6 and isn’t expected to be in danger of missing Sunday.

The good news for Kansas City is a defence that ranks second in the NFL in points allowed at just 16.6 per game, behind only Minnesota.

Seattle Seahawks

Darnold has thrown seven interceptions this season, six of them in Seattle’s three losses and he owned his two picks in the Denver defeat afterward.

“No way to sugarcoat it, that one sucked, Darnold said.”

The run game has also taken a hit with Walker gone, leaving Emanuel Wilson and George Holani as the primary options, though Zach Charbonnet (ACL) has a real chance to make his season debut Sunday.

The defence remains a strength regardless, ranking eighth in points allowed (20.3 per game) and first in total passing yards allowed (141.3 per game).
