Chiefs vs. Dolphins Betting Odds, Prediction and Picks: Can Miami Cover Week 3’s Biggest Spread?
We’ve already made it to Week 3 of the 2026-27 season, and the Kansas City Chiefs have returned to the NFL’s elite. After dismantling the Broncos 31-10 in Week 1, Kansas City outlasted the Indianapolis Colts 33-30 on Sunday Night Football.
Although they needed overtime to grab that win, Patrick Mahomes looks like his offseason ACL surgery hasn’t slowed him down one bit.
On the flip side, the Miami Dolphins are just looking to get through the season after starting the year 0-2.
Their back-to-back losses to the Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers came by a combined 36 points, and I’m not entirely sure how they’ll get things going against a Chiefs team with Super Bowl aspirations.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends
The market has moved hard toward Kansas City this week. The Chiefs are now 10.5-point favourites, the biggest spread of Week 3. Kansas City carries a -900 money line price, while Miami sits at +475 as the home underdog. The Over/Under has settled at 46.5, with the Over priced at -105 and the Under at -115.
Miami has struggled against the number as an underdog, going 8-16 ATS from Week 4 of the 2023 season through last year. The Dolphins are 0-2 ATS so far this season and the only NFL team that hasn’t held a lead at any point.
That said, laying big road numbers with Kansas City has been costly lately: the Chiefs went 1-6 ATS as road favourites last season, and they’re 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games.
NFL Player Odds and Props
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins don’t have many offensive threats, but De’Von Achane is their main man, and the running back needs to get going this season.
After recording 1,350 rushing yards (fifth in the NFL) and 12 total TDs, the RB has struggled out of the gate, tallying 110 yards on 35 carries. He’s failed to find the end zone, but his -115 odds to do so against Kansas City are tempting, especially after their defence allowed two TDs to Colts RB Jonathan Taylor last week.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is the odds-on favourite to win Comeback Player of the Year.
As good as Mahomes has been, Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III has been the star in Kansas City. The former Seahawks RB leads the league with 290 rushing yards through two games, which is why I have my eyes on his Over/Under for rushing yards.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Jeff Hafley era has started badly in Miami. The Dolphins are 0-2 for the second straight season and have been outscored 62-26, losing at Las Vegas before a 35-13 defeat in San Francisco.
New starting quarterback Malik Willis has been under constant pressure: 17 pressures and five sacks in Week 1, then 11 pressures and four sacks against the 49ers.
Hafley has admitted the coaches need to give right tackle Austin Jackson more help. De’Von Achane remains the offence’s best weapon, but he’s still averaging less than four yards per carry.
Miami Dolphins
Kansas City looks like itself again. After a 6-11 season that ended with Patrick Mahomes tearing his ACL and LCL in Week 15, the Chiefs opened with a 31-10 rout of Denver, then outlasted Indianapolis 33-30 in overtime.
Mahomes threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns against the Colts, and Travis Kelce added nine catches for 101 yards and a score.
The biggest change is offseason signing Kenneth Walker III, who has revived the ground game and piled up 178 all-purpose yards on Sunday night.
The one concern is a defence that gave up 30 points at home.
