Chargers vs. Cardinals Point Spread: NFL Week 12 Odds, Prediction
This was their second time this season the Chiefs stung them in a tight, one-score affair as both games were settled by only three points. The loss was the second in a row for Los Angeles as they prepare to travel to play the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona has had no answers this season as they fell down to 4-7 on the year after a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City. It was their fifth loss out of their past seven games as quarterback Kyler Murray missed his second straight contest. With off-field controversy to boot, can the Cardinals really compete here?
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Chargers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six when coming off of a straight-up loss. Unfortunately, though, they’ve won just four out of their 14 games against the spread during the month of November. For the total, the over has cashed in seven out of their last eight games played on the road against teams with a losing home record.
Arizona is 2-9 ATS in their past 11 games played at home and is just 1-5 ATS in their past six games played during Week 12. Luckily, they are good at bouncing back off of their defeats. They are 4-1 ATS in their last five games coming off of an ATS loss.
Los Angeles Chargers
Injuries, injuries, injuries. That’s been the story for the Chargers throughout the entire season. Coming into this game, they currently have Mike Williams, Gerald Everett, Kenneth Murray, and Nasir Adderley all listed as questionable. This is on top of the other severe injuries they’ve suffered earlier in the year with J.C. Jackson, Rashawn Slater, Joey Bosa, and others on injured reserve.
This team is forced to rely upon the talent and heroics of Justin Herbert to win games. Herbert is currently fifth in the league with 2,730 passing yards on the season. He’s been able to do this despite having Keenan Allen for only three games.
The Chargers tend to play to the level of their competition and that’s the concern here. If they’re focused like they were against Kansas City, this should be an easy win. The Cardinals are falling apart at the seams in what appears to be the end of the Kliff Kingsbury era.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are suffering from injuries but they’re also having internal struggles. Murray has reportedly made some progress on his hamstring injury but hasn’t been cleared to play yet. If he can’t go, expect Colt McCoy back out there to lead the offense with DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins is one of the only fully healthy wideouts on the roster right now as well. Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, Marquise Brown, and Zach Ertz are all either out or questionable. They need to find points because their defense is ranked second to last when it comes to points allowed per game.
The Cardinals continue to have off-field issues as a couple of weeks ago, DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray got into it on the sidelines. This week, one of their coaches was fired for groping a woman in Mexico City. The team also randomly cut running back Eno Benjamin. A win for Arizona here would be a surprise as many signs point to a Chargers blowout.
