The Los Angeles Chargers are finally starting to put it all together down the stretch of the season. They’ve won four straight games and five out of their last six coming into their regular season finale against the Denver Broncos. The same certainly can’t be said about the Broncos, a team that is currently sitting at 12 losses on the season with nearly no positives to be had moving forward, although they did give the Kansas City Chiefs a bit of a scare last week. Will they be able to play spoiler and attempt to push the Chargers around in the playoff seeding?

The Chargers are 3-point favourites to win on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Chargers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games played on the road and 3-0-1 ATS in their previous four games played overall. When it comes to the total, the under has hit in their previous five games played and their past four against teams from the AFC Conference. However, the Chargers are just 2-5 ATS in their previous seven meetings against the Broncos.

As for Denver, they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven against teams with a winning record on the year. The total has seen the over cash out in their last four games overall and their last four games in January as well.

Los Angeles Chargers

Halfway through the season with a 5-5 record, there were rumblings that the Chargers could potentially be firing their head coach Brandon Staley and trying to head in a different direction after the season. Since then, they’ve won five out of their last six and are starting to get healthy at the right time. Quarterback Justin Herbert and this offence are starting to fire on all cylinders. And the offensive weapons are certainly plentiful on this with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler surrounding Herbert.

Defensively, L.A. could be getting Derwin James back into the lineup after he missed last game. Standout edge rusher Joey Bosa could finally be ramping up for a return after spending most of the season on Injured Reserve. These two guys coming back into the lineup would make the Chargers even scarier heading into the post-season.

It’s worth adding the Chargers should be focused on picking up the No. 5 seed, which they can clinch with a win here. The No. 5 seed visits the winner of the AFC South. That’s a better scenario than facing the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals or Baltimore Ravens.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos’ disastrous season is finally coming to a close. The Russell Wilson situation seems to be getting worse by the second, their defence is starting to slip up more often than not and the injuries continue to pile up.

The only positive is that the Broncos were competitive in Kansas City last week. They nearly pulled off a big upset. For it to happen this week, the offensive line has to be better. Wilson was sacked four times against the Chiefs last week. That brings his total sack number up to 53 on the year, the most times he’s been brought down in a single season throughout his career. The previous high came in 2018 with the Seattle Seahawks when he was brought down 51 times. The offensive line has to protect Wilson, or this game will go as their others did.
