Cardinals vs. Texans Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season includes a battle between the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon in Houston. The Cardinals have lost five games in a row and come in with a 3-10 record. It is a completely opposite story for the Texans, whose five-game winning streak is currently the second-longest in the league. They are 9-5 and have moved into an AFC wild-card position ahead of the Colts.
The all-time head-to-head series is tied up at 3-3, with Houston taking two of the last three encounters dating back to 2017. These two teams most recently faced each other during the 2023 regular season, when the Texans prevailed 21-16 at home.
Houston is a 9.5-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with the total set at 42.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Arizona is 1-4 against the spread in its last five contests. Houston is 3-0 ATS in its last three overall, 4-1 ATS in its last five on the road and 2-0 ATS in the last two head-to-head matchups. As for the over/under, the under is 4-0 in the Texans’ last four overall and 2-0 in the last two head-to-head. However, the over is 7-2 in the Cardinals’ last nine outings.
In addition to the more traditional lines, the first-quarter spread is -2.5 in the Texans’ favour and the first-half spread is -6.5. The first-quarter over/under is 7.5; the first-half over/under is 21.5.
Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray (foot) has not played since Week 5, won’t play again this season and his career in Arizona has almost certainly come to an end. Backup QB Jacoby Brissett has been solid in Murray’s absence, completing 66.2 percent of his passes this season with a 15-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Quarterback play has been the least of Arizona’s concerns. Although the Cardinals’ defence isn’t terrible, they are 26th in scoring (26.8 ppg allowed) and their pass rush (24 sacks) is one of the worst in football. The visitors must play well on defence to have any chance at Houston, but that will be difficult if they don’t put pressure on quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Houston Texans
The Texans’ defence might be the scariest unit in all of football right now. Almost no sports fan turns on a game in hopes of seeing little scoring, but Houston may be an exception to that rule. Its defence is so good that it is actually fun to watch. The Texans are No. 1 in total defence, No. 1 in scoring defence, No. 4 against the pass and No. 5 against the run. Four consecutive opponents have failed to reach the 20-point mark – a stretch that includes games against Buffalo, Indianapolis and Kansas City.
On the other side of the ball, Stroud has played in the last two games after missing three with a concussion. Stroud was decent but unspectacular in those two, going a combined 37-for-66 with 479 yards, one touchdown and one interception. But when you have that defence behind you, “decent” quarterback play is almost always enough to win.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Cardinals vs. Texans?
It’s hard to like any offence’s chances against the Texans these days. Brissett is playing well, but he is not getting much help at all from the running game. Edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter – and really the entire Houston defence – are going to be all over Brissett this weekend. Let’s go with the Texans to win this one 30-13.
