The Arizona Cardinals hope to extend their lead atop the NFC West standings with a fifth straight victory when they visit the division rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon in NFL Week 12 action. The Cardinals have leveraged a stout defence while climbing to the top of the division during a steady 5-1 run and have surrendered 10 or fewer points on three occasions including each of their past two games. The Seahawks stayed within one game of the Cardinals with last weekend’s 20-17 win in San Francisco but have fallen to defeat in four straight home contests by an average margin of 12 points.

The Cardinals are finally starting to earn some respect from oddsmakers, who have pegged them as 1-point road favourites on the NFL odds board and betting chalk for just the second time this season. The Seahawks are knotted with Arizona at -110 on the NFL moneyline and the total is listed at 47.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

In addition to padding their divisional lead, the Cardinals can slap a five-game losing streak against the Seahawks with a win on Sunday. Low scoring has been commonplace in recent dates between these teams with the Cardinals averaging just 19 points per game during their 0-5 head-to-head swoon and just 9.5 points per game in their past two visits to Seattle. But this season, the Cardinals have turned the tables on opponents, whom they have limited to just 14.3 points per game during their 4-0 run.

The Cardinals have also averaged 29.3 points per game over their past three outings and scored at least 28 points on five occasions this season. While the Cardinals enjoy a breakthrough campaign, the Seahawks have struggled. Winners in their first three games of the season, the Seahawks have gone just 2-5 since while surrendering 27.9 points per game and just 18.5 points per game during their 0-4 run at home.

Arizona Cardinals

For a second straight week, the Cardinals slammed the door on an opposing attack with a 31-6 rout of the Jets before enjoying a bye last week. Arizona has not allowed an opposing touchdown in two straight games and has given up just one scoring pass over the past four games while racking up 13 total quarterback sacks. That impressive defensive performance has certainly given plenty of breathing room to quarterback Kyler Murray, who connected on 22 of 24 pass attempts for 266 yards and one score while running for two TDs versus New York. James Conner has continued to provide a spark, both downfield and in the backfield. Conner emerged as Murray’s favourite target while compiling 80 receiving yards while adding 33 rushing yards and one touchdown run and has topped 100 combined yards in five of seven outings.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks managed to escape with a 20-17 win over San Francisco last week but did little to inspire confidence that they are about to bust out. Seattle endured yet another slow start and have now failed to score a touchdown inside the first 15 minutes in their past five games and have averaged just 8.4 first-half points over that stretch. Injuries remain a massive concern for this team, with a lengthy injury report featuring several key personnel including tight end Noah Fant and receiver Laviska Shenault Jr., as well as defensive end Leonard Williams and cornerback Dee Williams. Indeed, injuries to the receiving corps have not helped quarterback Geno Smith, who has failed to throw a scoring pass in two of the past three games. A porous offensive line has also been a concern, with Smith getting sacked 11 times over the past two games.
