DeAndre Hopkins hauled in a last second Hail Mary in Week 10 to help the Cardinals move to 6-3. They visit Seattle to kick off Week 11.
The Arizona Cardinals used to rarely be shown on primetime TV, but that was before they got Kyler Murray. The Cards visit the Seattle Seahawks to kick off NFL Week 11 on Thursday night in a huge NFC West tilt. Seattle is set at -3 on the NFL odds with a total of 57.5.
NFL Week 11 Point Spread and Betting Analysis
This game could feature this year’s NFL MVP Award winner in either Arizona’s Murray or his Seahawks quarterback counterpart Russell Wilson. Murray probably won’t win it this year, but he’s going to get at least one in his career. The former Heisman winner and 2019 No. 1 overall pick is that good. He also could become the third QB ever to rush for 1,000 yards in a season in 2020. Wilson is right there for MVP favourite with Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes.
This wraps up the season series between the rivals and an Arizona win would give the Cards the season sweep and a potentially huge head-to-head tiebreaker over Seattle. In Week 7 in the desert, Murray led a wild 37-34 overtime win over the Seahawks – who entered unbeaten. The Cardinals were down 34-24 with under three minutes left but got to within three on a Murray TD pass with 2:28 to go and sent it to overtime on Zane Gonzalez’s 44-yard field goal as time expired. He would win it from 48 yards out with 15 seconds left in overtime.
Seattle appeared to win it earlier in overtime on a 48-yard DK Metcalf TD catch from Wilson, but it was called back due to penalty. Wilson threw a bad interception on the next play. He was picked three times overall but threw for 388 yards and three scores and led the team with 84 yards rushing. Murray threw for 360, three TDs and a pick and led his team with 67 yards rushing and had another TD.
It was arguably the best game of the 2020 regular season and still might be. Seattle is 5-4-1 in the past 10 meetings and 6-3-1 against the spread.
Arizona Cardinals
No question the craziest ending of any game this season happened Sunday when the Cardinals beat visiting Buffalo 32-30 on a Hail Mary 43-yard touchdown pass from Murray to DeAndre Hopkins – who made an incredible catch in triple coverage. Alas, the Cards closed as 2.5-point favourites and they opted not to try the extra point and risk getting it returned for two points and a potential tie, so a horrible bad beat for Arizona backers. Murray threw for 245 yards, one touchdown and one interception and rushed for two scores. Hopkins had seven catches for 127 yards. Kenyan Drake rushed 16 times for 100 yards in his return from injury. The Cards were down 23-9 midway through the third quarter.
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle lost its second in a row and third in four games Sunday, 23-16, at the Los Angeles Rams and Wilson lost his favoured role as the NFL MVP favourite. He has all of a sudden become turnover-prone and was picked twice by the Rams and lost a fumble. Wilson did not throw a TD pass but did lead the team with 60 yards rushing. Seattle was without its top two running backs and top two cornerbacks due to injury. There is now a three-way tie for first in the NFC West between the Seahawks, Rams and Cardinals.
