Cardinals vs. Rams Point Spread: NFL Week 6 Odds, Prediction

Neither club’s record tells their season story. The 2-3 Rams have been a tough matchup for some strong opponents thus far, while the 1-4 Cardinals are way more competitive than most experts pegged them to be. But it’s getting to the point in the season already when a pile of losses can bury a team’s playoff hopes, something both Arizona and L.A. face in Week 6.

Kickoff at SoFi Stadium goes at 4:25 p.m. EDT, with the Rams a home favourite at -6 on the spread and -275 on the moneyline. Oddsmakers have the total at 47.5 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

It’s been all Rams when these teams square off as of late, with L.A. taking 11 of these teams’ last 13 meetings. The Rams are 10-2-1 ATS in those contests. Arizona enters the tilt this having dropped five consecutive road outings, but L.A. is winless in two home contests this season.

Four of Arizona’s first five games have finished over the total, but the Cardinals have put up exactly 16 points in each of their two road outings this season. L.A.’s allowed nearly 27 points a game at home, as well as the second-most yards against per game on home field with 409.5. Last season the Cardinals beat the Rams 27-17 in L.A.

Arizona Cardinals

A knee injury to veteran running back James Conner has opened the door for a youngster(s) to take over as Arizona’s starter this week. Rookie Emari Demercado has received slightly more carries (14) than second-year back Keaontay Ingram (12) so far, and it’s certainly not out of the equation that Demercado and Ingram both contribute out of the backfield moving forward.

Arizona’s dropped two straight contests, most recently falling 34-20 at home to Cincinnati. The Cardinals defence allowed 192 yards and three touchdown catches to Bengals ace receiver Ja’Marr Chase, which is concerning with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua coming in for the Rams.

Cardinals leading receiver Hollywood Brown missed practice Wednesday with an illness, with no word on his game status.

Los Angeles Rams

Cooper Kupp made his season debut in last weekend’s loss versus Philadelphia and didn’t miss a beat with eight catches for 118 yards. Kupp didn’t take much away from breakout rookie Puka Nacua’s production, as the youngster hauled in seven receptions for 71 yards and a score. The one-two punch, along with a healthy Matthew Stafford has L.A. fifth in the NFL with 270 passing yards per game.

The Rams gave up nearly 500 yards of offence in their defeat last weekend. Starting linebackers Ernest Jones (knee) and Christian Rozeboom (thigh) missed Wednesday’s practice. Jones is tied for fourth in the league with 53 tackles and is coming off a 15-tackle game, three of which were for losses, so his status is one to keep a close eye on as Sunday approaches.
