Cardinals vs. Colts Point Spread: NFL Week 6 Odds, Prediction

One of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season, the 2-3 Arizona Cardinals, travels to Indianapolis to take on one of the league’s most pleasant surprises, the Colts, Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Arizona lost its third straight game via an opponent’s field goal on the final play of the game. That’s something that, according to Sportradar, has never happened before. And it never should have gotten to that point.

The under-a-yard until a touchdown drop, the dumbest unforced error in all of sports, struck Arizona reserve running back Emari Demercado, who was on the doorstep of a 72-yard score to put the Cardinals up 22 and ice the game. Instead, the winless Titans scored 16 unanswered points in the final frame to walk away winners.

The Colts had no such issues, laying the smackdown on Las Vegas, 40-6. Daniel Jones has risen from the ashes, while Jonathan Taylor scored three more touchdowns as Indianapolis improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 at home.

The Colts are 7-point favourites on the NFL odds, with the total pegged at 47.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Cardinals fell to 2-3 against the spread with their fourth-quarter collapse last week, but the team is 2-0 ATS on the road and 7-1 ATS in their previous eight games against AFC teams dating back to last season.

Indianapolis is 4-1 against the spread overall and 3-0 ATS at home. They have won their three games at Lucas Oil Stadium by an average of 20 points. The Colts own a five-game home win streak dating back to last season.

Both teams have played to the Over twice this season.

Arizona Cardinals

What took place on the field had to be seen to be believed: Demercado’s gaffe, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson’s interception-turned-fumble that was recovered by Tennessee for a touchdown. This team truly is an enigma. Just mere seconds and a handful of points away from being 5-0, the Cardinals stand at a crossroads.

And they do so without their stalwart running back, James Conner, who is out for the season. His replacement, Trey Benson, is on injured reserve. And the jury is out on whether Demercado will see the field ever again in a Cardinals uniform.

That’s a lot of weight on the shoulders of quarterback Kyler Murray.

Indianapolis Colts

With Jones and Taylor in sync, the Colts have studs at each skill position, as wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie tight end Tyler Warren have elite capabilities themselves. Jones may already have the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award sewn up.

Indy took a huge hit in special teams last week, however, as kicker Spencer Shader was lost for the season with a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee after just being named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month. He had made 13 of 14 field goals, all 14 of his extra point attempts, and led the league with 53 points. New signee and former Chargers, Colts, and Lions kicker, Michael Badgley, steps in.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Cardinals vs. Colts?

Although the Colts are beating teams by an average of 20 points at home, their toughest opponent, the Denver Broncos, took them to the last play before losing, 29-28.

If the Cardinals don’t shoot themselves in the foot, they could easily win this game. That said, they are the Cardinals. Look for the Colts to stay unbeaten at Lucas Oil Stadium with a 27-24 victory.
