Everyone in the state of Minnesota is keeping their fingers and toes crossed that Sam Bradford can start under centre for the Vikings on Sunday against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

A spread has yet to be posted on the Sports Interaction NFL odds board because of Bradford’s uncertain availability.

The Vikings could be in for a long afternoon regardless of who starts at quarterback for them. Tampa Bay is coming off a blowout win over the Chicago Bears last weekend and is the fifth favourite to win the NFC Championship at +1100 according to Sports Interaction’s NFL futures odds board.

The Bucs are 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.

The Vikings are 23-7 ATS in their last 30 home games including the curb stumping they gave the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs’ first win of the season was in due large part to their defence. Tampa Bay held the Bears to just 20 rushing yards on 17 carries with defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and linebacker Lavonte David routinely blowing up well-crafted blocking schemes.

McCoy missed practice early in the week but appears to likely to play against the Vikings on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings

Bradford was the NFC player of the week after his sparkling performance against the Saints. He completed 27 of 32 pass attempts for 346 yards and three touchdowns. He missed last week’s loss to the Steelers because of pain and swelling in his knee.

All hope is not lost if Case Keenum is the starter at QB for Minnesota on Sunday. The former No. 1 signal caller for the Los Angeles Rams has a good track record in starts against the Buccaneers.

Keenum is 2-0 straight up and against the spread in his career against the Bucs in the Jameis Winston era. The Rams, with Keenum at the helm, dropped over 31 points on the Bucs in 2015 and 2016 despite being underdogs in each game.
