The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans are continuing to evaluate young quarterbacks ahead of their preseason clash this Saturday. In Tampa Bay’s case, 2021 third-round pick Kyle Trask got the majority of reps in Week 1 as Tom Brady deals with a personal matter that will keep him sidelined for a few weeks. Malik Willis, a 2022 third-round pick, made his NFL debut last weekend and showed dazzling potential as veteran Ryan Tannehill did not dress.

Kickoff Saturday at Nissan Stadium begins at 7 p.m. ET. Tennessee is a 3-point favourite to win at home. The over-under listed at 38.5 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Both teams failed to cover the spread last weekend in contests that went over the total. The over is now 4-1 in Tampa Bay’s last five games, but conversely 2-5 in Tennessee’s last seven outings. Head-to-head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven Bucs–Titans meetings in Nashville.

Tampa Bay was second in the NFL with 29.9 points per game last season while the Titans were just above average with 24.2 a game. The Bucs led the entire NFL with 304 passing yards per game behind the arm of Brady, while Tennessee was a top-five rushing team thanks to Derrick Henry. Both offences should stick to their identity this upcoming NFL campaign.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Going 25 of 33 passing for 258 yards, Trask’s stat line for Tampa Bay last weekend looked like an entire game’s worth, although the second-year pivot played three quarters. Blaine Gabbert got the start. Gabbert was perfect in his two drives with five completions on as many attempts for 56 yards and a touchdown. Along with Brady, receivers Mike Evans, Julio Jones, and Chris Godwin plus running back Leonard Fournette did not dress.

Jaelon Darden and Jerreth Sterns caught touchdown passes in the win while Ke’Shawn Vaughn rushed in a one-yard score. The Bucs ended up falling to Miami 26-24.

Tennessee Titans

Willis’ performance was the main storyline in the Titans’ 23-10 loss at Baltimore last week. The rookie quarterback finished six of 11 for 107 yards through the air and scored Tennessee’s lone touchdown via a seven-yard run. Logan Woodside got the majority of quarterback reps for the Titans and completed 14 of 24 pass attempts for 102 yards and two interceptions.

Julius Chestnut had a team-high 56 yards of offence in the loss and was the Titans leading rushing with 44 yards, as again Henry and veteran receiver Robert Woods both did not suit up. No announcement on Tennessee’s roster plan for Saturday has been made.
