Browns vs. Patriots Point Spread: NFL Week 8 Odds, Prediction

Gillette Stadium should be loud for what figures to be a great matchup, and while these teams have completely different records, it should be a tight battle.

Drake Maye looks to lead his Patriots to a 6-2 record, continuing New England’s surprising major success thus far. Meanwhile, Cleveland rookie Dillon Gabriel and his rebuilding Browns are still trying to find their way in the league, though they have some momentum after a Week 7 win. To get you set for the action, here are some Browns vs. Patriots predictions.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Not only do the Patriots come in this one as heavy favourites at (-360) on the money line and seven-point favourites in the spread market, but they have also been incredible ATS (against the spread) with a 5-2 record. Cleveland, on the other hand, has not been so great at 3-4 ATS.

As for the game totals, the over has hit in 3/7 games for both the Browns and Patriots. Since 2010, these teams have played five times. New England is on a five game winning streak over that time, with their last head-to-head matchup in 2022.

Cleveland Browns

We knew these would be trying times for this Cleveland Browns team, and we are certainly seeing them. However, there have been some bright spots on this team, mainly running back Quinshon Judkins. The 21-year-old rookie has 467 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns, and has been a spark for the team. The infusion of youth has begun in Cleveland, and he is leading the way.

Even at 2-5, they have been competitive in a number of games this season. I expect them to show up on the road and give New England a run for their money, especially after riding a large 31-6 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have been shot out of a cannon this season. Even in a re-tooling phase that involves many changes and young players inserted, the Patriots are atop the AFC East and look poised to win their fifth-straight game.

Quarterback Drake Maye (12 TD, 2 INT) has been absolutely slinging it throughout the entire offence, and the defence has also played strong as a committee – failing to surrender more than 20 points since Week 3. Head coach Mike Vrabel has his team bought-in in his first season with the Patriots, so it’s hard to go against the Patriots with morale and momentum so high.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Browns vs. Patriots?

I think the likes of Myles Garrett and Quinshon Judkins can make things interesting in this game, but ultimately I am siding with the Patriots. New England has shown so much strength in their first seven games and has looked excellent on both sides of the ball.

I expect the Patriots to keep up momentum, especially on their home field. In what would be their fifth-straight win, I see New England proving victorious 27-13.
