Broncos vs. Texans Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction

The Broncos open a crucial three-game road trip after storming to decisive 29-12 win over Cleveland last weekend, and have now covered in four of five contests after going winless against the spread in each of their previous seven contests. The Texans saw a three-game win streak snapped by last weekend’s 24-21 loss to the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. One of the big surprised of the 2023 NFL campaign, the Texans have also quickly faded at the sportsbook, covering just once in five outings after going unbeaten against the spread in their previous four.

Despite their recent disappointing results on the NFL odds, the Texans are tagged as 3.5-point favourites in Sunday’s contest. The Broncos trail as +155 underdogs on the NFL moneyline, and the total is listed at 47.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Broncos have built their recent resurgence on a stout defence that has allowed just 16 points per game during their 5-0 run after allowing 28 or more points in four of their first six outings. Those stingy ways have paid dividends for NFL betting fans taking the UNDER, which has paid out in five of Denver’s past six games. Losers in five of seven dates with the Broncos, including a pair of crushing defeats on home turf, the Texans finally saw their recent good luck run out in last week’s date with the Jags. Houston fell behind early for the fourth time in as many games, and saw a second-half rally fall well short to fall while suffering their second loss during a stretch of five games that have been decided by an average margin of three points. And while the Texans have won two straight as home chalk, they have covered just one in their past 10 while favoured at home.

Denver Broncos

It has taken awhile, but Russell Wilson is finally meeting the high expectations that awaited him upon his arrival in Denver last year. Despite completing fewer than 60% of pass attempts for the third time this season, Wilson connected on one scoring pass and ran for a touchdown in last week’s win over the stingy Browns. Wilson has now thrown for at least one touchdown in 15 straight games, and is an intriguing +125 bet on the NHL player props to throw for multiple scores against a Texans squad that has allowed six scoring passes over the past four games. The question now facing the Broncos is whether their ground game can maintain the momentum gained from last week, when they produced their first two scoring runs since Week 2. Javonte Williams once led the squad with 65 rushing yards, but is yet to produce a scoring run so far this season.

Houston Texans

Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud’s heroics were not enough to save the Texans in last week’s loss to Jacksonville. Stroud tossed for two scores in his seventh multi-TD performance of his memorable first NFL campaign. The prized rookie also ran for his third TD in five games. However, his 47 rushing yards were more than all other Texans rushers combined. Veteran Devin Singletary particularly struggled, compiling just 18 rushing yards after racking up 262 total rushing yards and two TDs in the previous two games. Injuries among the receiving corps remain a concern. Tank Dell missed Wednesday practice with a calf injury, and Noah Brown was limited after missing the past two games with a knee injury.
