Broncos vs. Chiefs Point Spread: NFL Week 8 Odds, Prediction
The Broncos and Chiefs close Week 8 on Monday night in Kansas City. If it seems like these AFC West rivals play a prime-time game in K.C. every year, that’s accurate. This will be the fifth season in a row. The Chiefs are 7-point favourites at Sports Interaction.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These teams also close the year against one another in Denver on New Year’s Eve, and that could have playoff ramifications. Kansas City has won three in a row in the series after the Broncos had taken the previous seven … thanks to now-retired Peyton Manning.
Last year in Week 12, the Chiefs won in Denver 30-27 in overtime in one of the most entertaining games of the 2016 season. Late in the OT, then-Broncos coach Gary Kubiak chose to let his kicker Brandon McManus try a winning 62-yarder. It missed and thus gave the Chiefs great field position. They would take advantage and win on Cairo Santos’ 34-yard field goal, which somehow went through after hitting the left upright. Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill had a game for the ages with touchdowns via rush, receiving and return. Last Christmas, the Chiefs pounded the visiting Broncos 33-10. Hill had a 70-yard TD run.
Kansas City is just 3-7 SU & ATS in the past 10 at home in this series, but, again, some of those losses were due to Manning.

Denver Broncos
Perhaps the Broncos (3-3 SU, 2-3-1 ATS) shouldn’t have taken their Week 5 bye. Entering that, they were 3-1 but have since lost at home to an injury-depleted Giants team, 23-10, and then 21-0 on Sunday at the Chargers. Denver hadn’t been shutout since November 1992!
It might be time for first-year coach Vance Joseph to bench starting quarterback Trevor Siemian. He had two picks in the loss to the Giants and another vs. the Chargers as well as a lost fumble. His backup is Brock Osweiler. Denver was without two offensive starters against the Bolts in right tackle Menelik Watson (calf) and receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ankle). Sanders isn’t likely to play vs. Kansas City, either.
Kansas City Chiefs
Were the Chiefs (5-2, 5-2 ATS) a bit of a mirage with their 5-0 start? To be fair, their back-to-back losses are against 2016 playoff teams in the Steelers and Raiders. Last Thursday night’s 31-30 defeat in Oakland was wild as Kansas City had stopped the Raiders twice near the Chiefs’ goal line on the final play of the game, but both times a K.C. player was called for defensive holding.
The Chiefs had won 12 straight AFC West games and hadn’t lost back-to-back contests overall since Oct. 11-18 in 2015. The defeat surely wasn’t Alex Smith’s fault as he continued his MVP-caliber season by throwing for 342 yards and three scores. He still hasn’t been picked off this season and leads the NFL with a 120.5 rating. It might be time to worry about that Kansas City defense, though, as it has been gouged in the past three games.
Broncos at Chiefs Prediction
Kansas City 27, Denver 17.
