Broncos vs. Cardinals Point Spread: NFL Pre-Season Week 4 Odds, Prediction

It’s the final prep between these two teams before they head to the start of the regular season. Both the Broncos and Cardinals will dress “B” line-ups in this game. There is some talk that the Cardinals will dress a decent offensive attack that could be the difference in this game.

Odds makers have made the Cardinals slight –3 point favourites in this one.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These non-conference rivals do not have a large history playing against each other. In fact, the last time they met in a regular season game was back in 2014, where the Broncos knocked off the Cardinals 41-20. Virtually no one from those active rosters will be playing in this pre-season game. The Broncos have not played well on the road, as they are 1-9 ATS in their last ten road games, where the Cards are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games.

Denver Broncos

After last season’s dreadful offensive performance, the Broncos have shown signs of life with the ball this pre-season. New starter Case Keenum has been a good game manager so far through the first couple of weeks, and will likely get this game off before the start of the regular season. There is one quarterback in flux on this starter, and its former first round pick Payton Lynch. Lynch has had a difficult pre-season, and there are some in the Denver media that say he very well could be cut for the Broncos prior to the September 1 deadline. He’ll get another chance in this game against the Cardinals.

Chad Kelly has moved up the depth chart, and is the odds on favourite to win the back-up job to Keenum. Another position to look at will be the running backs. De’Angelo Henderson is in tough to keep a roster spot with the raise of DeVontee Booker, David Williams, and newcomer Royce Freeman who have seemed to wrap up opening day jobs with the club.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals had their dress rehearsal last week, and the defence looked in mid-season form. So far, in three pre-season games they have forced opposition offences to an amazing 16 turnovers. There are many who feel it could be a top ten defence this season; and with a decent offence, the Cardinals could make some noise in the NFC West. Currently at Sports Interaction, the Cardinals are paying -175 to finish with over 5.5 wins.

Injury note; running back D.J. Foster was carted off the field against the Cowboys, and will not play in this game. This opens the door for rookie Chase Edmonds, who raced for 55 yards on carries last game. Expect rookie quarterback Josh Rosen to get significant time in this contest.
