Oddsmakers aren’t forecasting another close game in Week 6. Deshaun Watson and Co. are large home favourites against the up-and-down Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

This line was late being posted because of doubt over the health of Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. The second-year player told the media he would “for sure” be playing against the Bills this weekend.

Sports Interaction responded by installing the Texans as 9.5-point home chalk against Buffalo. The line has crept up a half point to make the spread an even 10 points. This is the first time Houston has been a double-digit favourite since November 2013. The Texans are 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

The Bills are 2-1 straight up in their last three games despite possessing one of the least talented rosters in the NFL. No team in the league has scored fewer points than Buffalo (63) and the club is dead last in passing completion (49.6 percent), total passing yards (609) and yards per pass attempt (5.5).

Despite those ugly numbers, SIA bettors are still backing the Bills to cover. About 73 percent of SIA customers are picking Buffalo to keep the game within 10 points.

Buffalo Bills

Rookie quarterback Josh Allen has two wins under his belt after his first four NFL starts, but the Bills are doing everything possible to hide him on offence. Allen attempted just 19 passes and totaled 82 yards in the air in Buffalo’s 13-12 victory against Tennessee.

The Bills are instead turning to veteran running back LeSean McCoy to move the chains. McCoy had a combined 26 carries and receipts against the Titans a week after touching the ball just eight times against the Packers.

Houston Texans

It’s a completely different story from an offensive side of the ball in Houston. The Texans are relying on Watson to get the ball out to wideouts DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller. That’s partly because of our explosive the receiver duo is and partly because of how poor the ground game has been.

Starting tailback Lamar Miller is averaging just 3.9 yards per carry and Watson accounts for 201 of the team’s 581 total rushing yards.
