Bengals vs. Broncos Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction

As the AFC playoff race continues to see itself logjammed, games like Sunday’s Week 15 clash between the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos are where the contenders dwindle down. Both clubs are 7-6, the record of the AFC’s final playoff spot. Although, at the moment neither team has a tiebreaker that puts them in the playoffs. On the flip side, both teams are a game out of 13th in the AFC, which shows how tight things are.

Kickoff at Empower Field at Mile High starts at 4:05 p.m. EST. Denver is a 2.5-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with a total of 44.0.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Denver’s gotten the better of the Bengals, going 10-1 in their last 11 hosting Cincinnati. Looking further back, the Broncos have won 16 of their last 20 against Cincinnati. The Bengals have been solid on the road in 2021 though, winning four of the six away games.

Where both teams line up the same is in the over-under category. The Bengals are 4-2 to the under on the road in 2021, and Denver 5-2 to the under at home. Ironically, Cincinnati’s fourth in the NFL with 29.8 points per game on the road but Denver’s the second-best team at home when it comes to points allowed (17.1 points per game). The Bengals rank fourth in the NFL in scoring allowed on the road (17.5 points per game).

Cincinnati Bengals

Two straight home losses have dropped the Bengals right back in the wild-card mix. Cincinnati dropped a 26-23 contest in overtime versus the 49ers last Sunday after coming back from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Joe Burrow had an excellent day under centre, throwing for 348 yards and two scores while completing 25 of 34 passes.

Burrow’s now eighth in the NFL with 3,483 passing yards but is in a tie for the most interceptions with 14. Rookie Ja’Marr Chase reached 1,000 receiving yards on the season in the loss and is now fifth in the NFL. Chase also became the fourth wide out this season to hit double-digit receiving touchdowns.

Denver Broncos

It’s been the case for the Broncos all season as they again took care of some inferior competition with a 38-10 win over Detroit last Sunday. Denver’s ground game dominated in the win with Melvin Gordon and rookie Javonte Williams combining for 184 rushing yards on 39 carries. Both players also found the end zone twice in the win. Over their last three games, the Broncos sit third in the NFL in rushing yards.

On the other side of the ball, Denver remains stellar with a top-two defence in points allowed. Safety Justin Simmons snagged his fifth interception against Detroit, passing 2021 first-round pick Pat Surtain II for the team lead.
