NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends

These two clubs weren’t too far from meeting in last season’s playoffs. Seattle won the NFC West and Chicago took the NFC North. They would have met in the NFC title game in the Pacific Northwest, but the Bears were knocked off at home in the Divisional Round by the Rams in overtime. The Seahawks then took care of L.A. for the conference title.

Both should be playoff clubs again this winter – although neither may win a division title again simply because their divisions are so tough. Chicago is 5-2 but two games back in the loss column of first-place Minnesota in the NFC North. The Bears are +315 for the North and -265 for the playoffs. Seattle (4-3) is two games behind first-place San Francisco in the NFC West, but at least the 49ers fell from the ranks of the unbeatens in Week 7. Seattle is -230 for the playoffs.

NFC Conference - Outright winner

Including two playoff matchups, Seattle is 12-8 all-time vs. Chicago. The last meeting was memorable for all the wrong reasons as the Seahawks won about as ugly as possible, 6-3 in the Windy City in December 2024. Neither club even had 277 yards of offence. It was the Bears’ 10th straight loss at the time as rookie QB Caleb Williams was learning on the fly.

NFL Player Odds and Props

Bet Chicago tailback De’Andre Swift for an anytime touchdown as he’s having a career year with seven scores already and also is capable of a receiving TD. For Seattle, wager on star wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a TD. The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year has eight TDs.

Chicago Bears

Chicago is almost off a bye week as it played on Thursday night in Week 7 and beat visiting New England, 30-24, for a second straight win since QB Caleb Williams returned from injury. He threw for 308 yards and two scores to outduel 2024 NFL Draft classmate Drake Maye. Williams became only the third QB in team Bears history with at least 300 passing yards and zero interceptions in back-to-back games. He is completing 71 per cent of his throws, best by any Chicago QB in his first four starts of a season. Luther Burden had 130 yards and a TD on just four catches. The Bears are averaging 34.0 points in wins this year and just 5.0 PPG in the two losses. Tight end Cole Kmet suffered a season-ending knee injury in the victory. Starting linebacker TJ Edwards missed it.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle had a big game Sunday night at home vs. unbeaten Kansas City and knocked off the Chiefs in impressive fashion, 20-3. Those three points tied for the fewest by K.C. in a game started by Patrick Mahomes. It didn’t even get to the red zone against that excellent Seahawks defence. Sam Darnold threw for 257 yards with a TD, while Emanuel Wilson rushed 24 times for 100 yards and a TD, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba had nine catches for 150 yards and a TD. JSN has become only the second player in the Super Bowl era with at least 800 receiving yards and eight receiving TDs in the first seven games of a season. The Chiefs hadn’t allowed a touchdown catch to an opposing receiver during their 5-0 start. Seattle has now won 21 straight games including playoffs when having one or zero turnovers.
