Bears vs. Raiders Point Spread: NFL Week 4 Odds, Prediction
Both the Bears and Raiders understand their success is tied to their young offensive superstars producing, and so far the jury appears to be out on most of the key pieces.
2024 first overall pick Caleb Williams is coming off a breakout performance — four touchdown passes, over 300 yards of offence. Now the question is, can Williams keep this momentum going this time around after a 4-2 start for the Bears a year ago became a 10-game losing streak?
In Vegas, rookie running back Ashton Jeanty isn’t seeing his ridiculous college stats translate to the pros… yet. Jeanty’s 3.1 yards per carry leaves a lot to be desired, something that the Raiders must develop with their sixth-overall draft selection.
Kickoff at Allegiant Stadium is set for 4:25 p.m. EDT with NFL oddsmakers currently listing this as a pick’em on the moneyline, and the total at 47.5 on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The cross-country travel won’t do Chicago any favours this week as they enter Sunday having won just one of their last 11 road outings. But then again the Raiders have not utilized any home field advantage, winning one of their last even on home field. It’s a classic ‘something’s got to give’ matchup. Head-to-head, the Bears are 5-2 outright in their last seven meetings with the Raiders. In three of these last six meetings, the Raiders have scored 12 or fewer points.
Chicago is currently ninth in the NFL with 25.3 points per game, but 28th in points allowed with 31 a game. They allowed 52 points at Detroit in their lone road outing this season so far. The over is 2-1 in Bears games, while the Raiders are 2-1 to the under but did play in a 41-24 outing last weekend — making it a possibility that points are starting to come in bunches in Raiders’ games.
Chicago Bears
Second-year Bears Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze appear to have a legitimate connection in 2025. Odunze’s four touchdowns leads Chicago and he’s also scored in each game this season. Chicago also got rookie Luther Burden III going last week, as he was on the receiving end of a 65-yard flea flicker touchdown. The bad news is the status of rookie tight end Colston Loveland could be in doubt after missing Wednesday’s practice with a hip injury.
Defensively, Chicago’s only registered five sacks through three games — a disappointment after the off-season acquisitions on the defensive line. The secondary is hurting too, literally. Jaylon Johnson remains on the IR and now Kyler Gordon (hamstring) is banged up too and was a DNP on Wednesday’s injury report. On the bright side, Chicago generated four turnovers in Week 3 including a trio of interceptions — two of which came by Tremaine Edmunds.
Las Vegas Raiders
Ashton Jeanty starting Sunday’s loss with five carries for five yards didn’t establishing any run game for the Raiders, and then a 34-10 deficit certainly forced Geno Smith to start airing it out which was to Tre Tucker’s benefit. The 2023 third-round pick has been red hot to start this season, catching all four of Smith’s touchdown passes this season. Jakobi Meyers’ 228 receiving yards continue to led the offence while tight end Brock Bowers is still looking to break out. The positive news for Bowers is on Wednesday he was a full practice participant for the first time since Week 1.
On defence, Las Vegas is struggling to get early stops. They’re allowing 214 yards per game in the first half, which is third-last in the NFL. Explosion plays are hurting the Raiders too, specifically a 60-yard touchdown run allowed at Washington last week. And this is the issue star defensive send Maxx Crosby has — so far he thinks this defence is struggling to tackle, and to simply just do their jobs.
