Sunday Night Football Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These rivals play in prime-time in one of their two matchups pretty much every season, and in fact it’s 10th time in the last 11 years that the Packers-Bears game at Lambeau Field will be played in prime time.

In Week 6, Green Bay won 24-14 at Chicago. Aaron Rodgers completed 17 of 23 for 195 yards and two scores and also rushed for one. Aaron Jones rushed for 76 yards and caught a TD pass. Bears rookie Justin Fields was 16-for-27 for 174 yards with a TD and pick and rushed for 43 yards. No. 1 running back David Montgomery was out injured and rookie tailback Khalil Herbert rushed for 97 yards and a TD.

As for Sunday, Green Bay has won 11 of the last 13 meetings against the Bears at Lambeau Field. The Packers have outscored Chicago 361-195 in those, scoring at least 20 points in 11 of them. The Bears have covered just seven of the past 28 overall in the series.

Chicago Bears

It’s fact that this will be the final Bears-Packers game for Chicago head coach Matt Nagy as he is being fired after the season. Boos were again raining down on Nagy this past Sunday as the Bears were dominated 33-22 by Arizona. Rookie QB Justin Fields missed his second straight game with fractured ribs and is questionable for this one. Andy Dalton was picked off four times by the Cardinals. Running back David Montgomery was a bright spot with 141 yards from scrimmage and a TD. Top receiver Allen Robinson missed his third game in a row. Pro Bowl defensive tackle Akiem Hicks also was out. The Bears are 1-6 ATS in their past seven games.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay (9-3) would be the NFC’s No. 2 seed as things stand now, but the Packers do own the tiebreaker vs. current No. 1 Arizona (10-2). The Pack come out of their bye week. Aaron Rodgers had been playing with a broken toe. He was considering having surgery during the bye but it’s not believed that he did – Rodgers would play regardless. He has just one pick and 13 TD passes in his past six games.

The NFL MVP Award might come down to Rodgers and Tom Brady. A few other guys who missed games before the bye should return. It’s possible for the Packers to clinch their third straight NFC North title Sunday with a win but only if Pittsburgh wins at Minnesota on Thursday. Green Bay is 5-0 ATS in its past five at home. The Pack will win this game 100 per cent, but that’s a lot of points for a rivalry game.
