They now head down to Florida to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have their sights aimed at the No. 1 overall pick in the draft after they were blown out by the Baltimore Ravens last week. Each of these teams are going in complete opposite directions but the question is can the Jaguars play spoiler?

NFL Week 16 Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Bears are 0-5 ATS in their past five games when coming into the matchup as the favorite. This trend is bound to change this week despite their struggles this season. Jacksonville happens to be one of the worst teams in the league with no elite aspects of their team. The favorite in this matchup has also been able to win four out of their last five meetings. Chicago should be able to right the ship a small bit and break their losing streak as the favorite.

Meanwhile, the over is 4-0 in the Jaguars last four games when coming off an ATS loss in the game prior. This trend should continue this weekend as the Bears have been scoring at an increased rate lately while the Jaguars defense has been allowing 30.2 points per game.

Chicago Bears

Chicago has been able to get some more efficiency on the offensive side of the ball in recent weeks with Mitchell Trubisky remaining the starter. They have eclipsed 30 points in each of their last two games and look to be more balanced than they were before, mixing in the run game more often and letting David Montgomery go to work on opposing defenses. On the other side of the ball, the Bears own the 14th defense in the NFL and have played much better now that the offense is carrying their share.

The Bears have a very talented defensive line to go along with a young and hungry secondary. They should be able to make it difficult for the Jaguars to score – especially since the Jaguars offensive line and quarterback situation is so unsettled.

Jacksonville Jaguars

There isn’t much to be positive about if you are a Jaguars fan right now. They do have a star in the making at the running back position in James Robinson, but he exited his last game in the third quarter with an injury and is questionable for this game. Outside of him, their passing attack has been one of the worst in the league. Their offensive line has played a huge part in that though as they can’t seem to protect anybody back there. It also doesn’t help that their defense is riddled with injuries among their starters and are being forced to play a number of young and inexperienced players.

Jacksonville may have some things to look forward to in the future – including the possibility of Trevor Lawrence – but there isn’t much going on for them this season as they should get blown out this week against an elite Chicago defense.
