Beast Mode is back in Seattle. Five-time Pro Bowler Marshawn Lynch was signed and sealed this week and could see significant action versus the 49ers.
Both of these teams have already clinched playoff berths, but the 49ers will lock up the NFC’s number one seed with a win. The Seahawks can finish anywhere between number one through three seeds with a win. However, the loser of this game will fall into the number five seed.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These two teams put on showcase in week 10 on a Monday night game. The Seahawks won the game in overtime 27-24 on November 11. Jason Myers‘ 42-yard field goal as time expired handed the 49ers their first loss of the season.
In a way if it surprising that the home side Seahawks are slight underdogs at side, but oddsmakers at Sports Interaction have taken into consideration the amount of injuy’s to Seattle’s backfield.
The 49ers are also 6-1 on the road this season (5-2 ATS). Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is making his first career start in Seattle. He is 20-5 in 25 starts.
Home field hasn’t been an advantage for Seattle this season. They are 4-3 at home and 2-5 ATS. They are also 7-7-1 ATS overall this season.
Both of these teams are 8-7 to the over this season.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers can finish in a number of playoff positions in the NFC. With a win they will clinch the West division and hold the number one seed in the conference, which includes a first round bye. If they fall to the Seahawks and the Vikings beat the Bears they fall to the number five position, and a very outside chance of slipping to the number six seed.
Entering this game, they have won two out of the last three games including a 34-31 win over the Rams last weekend. This team is also getting healthy in the hopes of a long post season. Safety Jaquiski Tratt practiced this week and could see action. It appears Dee Ford will be the only Niners player not to play in this contest.
Seattle Seahawks
Beast Mode is back in Seattle. Five-time Pro Bowler Marshawn Lynch was signed and sealed this week and could immediately step in and have a large role for the Seahawks this weekend against the 49ers. After massive injuries to the team’s backfield including Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and CJ Prosise that leaves Travis Homer and Lynch as the only backs on the depth chart.
The Seahawks have a ton of post season scenarios, including capturing the number one seed. To do it, they’ll need a win this weekend plus losses for both the Saints and Packers in their games. They’ll need a better effort this week coming off a disappointing 27-13 loss to the Cardinals. Russell Wilson was sacked five times in the loss.
