49ers vs. Packers Point Spread: NFL Week 12 Odds, Prediction
The Packers return after escaping Chicago last weekend with a narrow victory that marks their fourth win in five games, but have emerged as a big disappointment to sports bettors while going winless against the spread in four straight outings and three of their past four home dates. The 49ers enter NFL Week 12 outside the NFC playoff picture after dropping a 20-17 decision to Seattle last weekend but have claimed the win in two straight road contests.
The Packers have emerged as slim 2-point home favourites on the NFL Week 12 odds. The Niners trail as +105 moneyline underdogs and the total is listed at 47.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Packers face a daunting task to flip the script on what has steadily become a losing narrative when facing the 49ers over the past decade. The Pack have fallen to defeat in eight of 12 dates with the Niners since 2010 including three of four home dates, capped by San Francisco’s 13-10 playoff win on the Frozen Tundra in NFC Divisional Round action two years ago. However, Green Bay has shown signs of a head-to-head turnaround at the sportsbook, covering the spread in three of the four most recent clashes between these squads. While Green Bay has compiled a solid 7-3 record that leaves them in control of the No. 6 seed in the NFC, they have managed to claim victory by a combined margin of just five points while averaging 22 points per game. The 49ers have struggled to find consistency, posting consecutive wins just once while compiling a 5-5 record and are poised to hit the gridiron as underdogs for the first time this season after going 4-6 ATS as betting chalk.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers face a host of injury concerns going into the weekend. Nick Bosa is one of three defenders who didn’t participate in Wednesday practice due to injury. Bosa suffered an apparent hip injury that forced him to leave last weekend’s loss to Seattle and his status is in doubt for Sunday. Both quarterback Brock Purdy and running back Christian McCaffrey have also made the NFL Week 12 injury report. McCaffrey was given some time off from practice as he continues his recovery from an Achilles injury, which may not be 100% healed. Purdy has been at the clinic since complaining of shoulder soreness following last weekend’s loss and his status is day-to-day according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Green Bay Packers
Scoring woes have emerged as a big concern for the Packers entering the final third of the regular season schedule. Green Bay has scored just 34 total points over the past two games and has topped 24 points just twice in six outings. Josh Jacobs has remained productive, account for four of the team’s past eight touchdowns and topping 100 combined rushing and receiving yards in each of the past three games. But Jacobs’ status for Sunday is uncertain after he was limited at practice this week while nursing an existing quad injury and a new calf injury. If Jacobs is unavailable, it will add to the enormous pressure on quarterback Jordan Love, who has connected on just one total scoring pass against three picks over the past three games.
