Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
The Lions are an absolute wagon right now. They’re riding a nine-game heater and at 10-1, they are tied with Kansas City for the best record in the NFL. Detroit hasn’t won on Thanksgiving since 2016, but that should change on Thursday.
It’s an obvious pick, but I’m looking at Lions quarterback Jared Goff for Thanksgiving MVP. David Montgomery and Amon-Ra St. Brown are both dealing with injuries, so it will be on Goff to elevate his game against the Bears.
Thanksgiving MVP pick: Jared Goff
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
It’s been a disastrous season for the Cowboys, so they’re lucky they are playing an even bigger mess of a team in the Giants. New York orginially planned to play Tommy DeVito at quarterback, but it looks like he’ll be held out with an injury, so Drew Lock is expected to get the start.
I like Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. to win MVP on Thursday. The rookie is averaging almost 80 rushing yards over his last seven games and New York is going to need to focus on the run game to have a shot a winning. Remember, Dallas still hasn’t won a game at home, the Giants actually have a chance to win this game and if they do, Tracy will be a major factor.
Thanksgiving MVP pick: Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers
Miami and Green Bay have both played pretty good football over the last few weeks, so this should be the most entertaining game of the day. Say what you will about Tua Tagovailoa’s record in cold weather games, but I think he shows up on Thursday.
This is a must-win game for the Dolphins and everything on offence runs through Tagovailoa, so I’ve got him as my MVP pick. Tagovailoa just threw for 317 yards and four TDs against New England last week and he’s been brilliant overall since returning from his concussion. This will be a statement game for Tagovailoa and the Phins.
Thanksgiving MVP pick: Tua Tagovailoa
