2018 marks the 14th year that Animal Planet has graced viewers with the Puppy Bowl. Let's take a closer look at this year's big game, all the good boys and good girls, and of course, our betting odds.
When is the Puppy Bowl?
The now-legendary Puppy Bowl happens on the same day as Super Bowl LII, Feb. 4, beginning at 3 p.m. ET on Animal Planet. This year’s matchup will feature the “Pup-triots” vs. the “B-eagles.” The Puppy Bowl pregame shows will start airing as early as 8 a.m. so you can get your fix the minute you wake up. Famed sports commentator Rodt Weiler will be providing valuable insights for the game, which will be held at GEICO Stadium.

This year, Puppy Bowl is going deeper than ever. An hour-long show featuring a panel of puppy football experts will be broadcast, so you’ll be able to get the insider’s look into this celebrated sporting event. This year’s game features 90 adoptable puppies from 48 rescue centers around the US. They’ll be playing their little hearts out for the chance to chew on the coveted “Lombarky” Puppy Bowl trophy.
For you techno-wizards, this will be the most futuristic foray into furry football yet. Puppy Bowl is going VR for 2018. So, if you have access to the Discovery VR apps, Samsung VR, and the Animal Planet YouTube channel, prepare yourself for the most immersive Puppy Bowl experience ever offered.
Jokgu, a chicken and a true patriot, will be playing the “Star-Spangled Banner” on the piano just before kick-off.
This year, Animal Planet is upping their game and will be airing the first-ever Dog Bowl on Saturday, February 3 at 8 p.m. ET. Just in case the puppies weren’t enough for you.
