Georgetown vs. Colorado Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds
The Buffaloes opened as 5-point favorites on the college basketball odds with a total of 138.
Georgetown vs. Colorado NCAA Tournament Point Spread and Betting
The winner will face either No. 4 Florida State or No. 13 UNC Greensboro on Monday for a trip to the Sweet 16. Colorado is +800 to win the East Region and Georgetown +4000.
Of course, it seems at least one No. 12 seed upsets a No. 5 every year, and since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, it has happened at least once in 30 of 35 NCAA Tournaments. The 2019 tournament marked the third time in the past seven tourneys that No. 12 seeds won three of the four meetings.
It’s the first-ever meeting between the Hoyas of the Big East and Buffaloes of the Pac-12. Georgetown is 2-6 ATS in its past eight NCAA Tournament games, while Colorado is 0-4 ATS in its past four.
(12) Georgetown Hoyas
Louisville was the first team out of the Big Dance among potential at-large teams and the Cardinals can certainly lay a lot of that blame on Georgetown – coached by former Hoyas legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing — and its shocking run to the Big East Tournament title. The Hoyas entered that at 9-12 and won four games in four days, blitzing then-No. 17 Creighton 73-48 in the title game last Saturday. GU had a 39-5 run in that game spanning halftime. It’s Georgetown’s 31st appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the program’s first since 2015. The Hoyas are 48-29 all-time in the tournament, and 1-2 against opponents from the Pac-12. Jahvon Blair is the leading scorer at 15.8 ppg.
(5) Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado (22-8) finished third in the Pac-12 regular-season standings and then was upset in the conference tournament title game by Oregon State – a bid stealer like Georgetown was. CU has one of the nation’s better point guards in senior McKinley Wright IV, a first-team All-Pac 12 selection. He is the first Buffalo in the Pac-12 era to garner three all-conference first team honors in a career. Wright leads the team in scoring (15.5 ppg), assists (5.6 apg) and steals (1.1 spg). If this comes down to free throws, that’s a huge advantage for Colorado as it is second in the nation in shooting 82.2 per cent from the charity stripe. No player on CU’s roster has played in an NCAA tourney game, and the school’s No. 5 seed is its best ever.
