Ohio vs. Creighton Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds
Next up for the Ohio Bobcats, after knocking out defending champion Virginia in the first round, is the Creighton Bluejays. Creighton snapped a two-game losing streak in the NCAA Tournament by taking out UC Santa Barbara on Saturday. With both teams playing such a similar style of basketball, does either one have the edge on Monday?

Despite Ohio being a No. 13 seed and Creighton a No. 5, this should be a close game. The Bobcats are getting the most action as a value pick because although Creighton opened as a 5.5-point favourite to win, Ohio is getting 75 per cent of the early betting action. The total opened at 149. Both teams have been covering, lately. Ohio is 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games, while Creighton has covered in four of their last five. (13) Ohio Bobcats
Outside of Oral Roberts, Ohio probably had the biggest upset of the tournament on Saturday. Trailing No. 4 Virginia at half, the Bobcats scored 35 points in the second half to shock the defending champions and knock them out in the first round for the second time in three tournaments. Ben Vander Plas walked all over Virginia’s defence, finishing with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting. Playmaker Jason Preston just missed out on a triple-double, putting up 11 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Ohio’s offence shot 42 per cent from the field, while their defence held Virginia to 35 per cent. If the Bobcats’ perimeter defence shows up again on Monday and their strong shooting continues, Ohio has a solid chance in this game.
(5) Creighton Bluejays
Saturday’s game wasn’t exactly how Creighton would have liked for it to go, but they pulled out a 63-62 win and moved on. The Blue Jays struggled against a weaker UC Santa Barbara team and barely avoided the upset. Marcus Zegarowski eventually stepped up for Creighton and finished with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Zegarowski did have some help, as Christian Bishop put up a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Creighton’s defence was probably the biggest reason they avoided an upset loss. The Bluejays held UC Santa Barbara to 38.6 per cent shooting from the field and 23.8 per cent from beyond the arc. If Creighton wants to win on Monday, their defence will need to continue to be at its best and the offence has to come alive.
