Wisconsin vs. North Carolina Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds
The North Carolina Tar Heels head into the Tournament playing their best basketball of the season, but there’s no mistaking this team from former No. 1-seeded squads. After bowing out in the semifinals of the ACC tourney, the Heels now face a tough matchup against a tough Wisconsin Badgers team.
Wisconsin vs. North Carolina NCAA Tournament Point Spread, Betting
The Tar Heels opened as 2-point favourites against Wisconsin and has since moved to -1.5. Neither of these teams has been a very good bet against the spread and their over/under betting trends don’t lean one way or the other. Close to 75 per cent of early bets are backing the Heels to cover. However, if you’re a dog lover, Wisconsin is 7-1-2 against the number as an underdog in its last 10 Tournament games and is the more experienced team in this matchup.
(9) Wisconsin Badgers
The Badgers look to turn the page after winning just four of their last 12 games ahead of the conference tournament. Still, you have to take the level of competition into account for that slump. This will be the last hurrah for five Wisconsin seniors, all of whom play major roles, so expect the Badgers to leave it all on the floor. They also allow just 64 points per game (35th in the country) and have four players who score in double-figures. Keep an eye on D’Mitrik Trice. The 6-foot guard leads the team averaging 13.7 points and four assists per game.
(8) North Carolina Tar Heels
The Tar Heels are young and inexperienced and needed a deep run in the ACC tournament to punch their ticket. UNC played at the 45th fastest pace in the country, so expect the Heels to try to turn this into a track meet. They’ll have a size advantage with four players at 6-foot-9 or taller, including Armando Bacot who leads the team in scoring (11.7) and rebounds (7.6) per game. The issue with this team is that it doesn’t take care of the ball very well and struggles with free-throw and three-point shooting. Roy Williams may have to work some of his magic to get this team out of the first round.
