The Indiana Pacers are ready to face the hottest team in the NBA – but they’d be much better off with their best player in the lineup. As it stands, the Pacers will need to make do without the services of Victor Oladipo on Monday as they host a Golden State Warriors team that has reeled off 10 consecutive victories. Golden State is coming off a narrow victory over the Boston Celtics, but has struggled mightily against the spread (ATS) when visiting Indianapolis.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Golden State has been a red-hot spread choice against the Eastern Conference, having gone 9-3 ATS in its past 12 games. But the Warriors have just four covers in their previous 17 games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse – and the Pacers have been terrific against Pacific Division foes overall, going 9-3 ATS in their previous 12 encounters. Indiana has also covered six of its previous eight home games against teams with winning road records.
The teams face divergent totals trends going into this one. The Warriors have gone above the total seven straight times following a successful cover – they edged Boston 115-111 at -3.5 last time out – and are 6-2 O/U in their previous eight road games. The Pacers, on the other hand, have converted the under in four of their past five games overall and have been a terrific play at home, going 35-16 to the under in their previous 51 contests at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Golden State Warriors
As you might expect, the Warriors have put together their latest double-digit winning streak on the strength of a virtually unstoppable offence. Since Jan. 5, Golden State is averaging an absurd 128.6 points per game – nearly 19 more than the next-closest team – while being the only team in the league to shoot better than 50 percent from the field over that span (51.4). They also lead the NBA in assists (33.1) and blocked shots (7.0) over that span.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers have showed the basketball world what their lineup will look like without Oladipo, who will miss the remainder of the season with a torn quad tendon. And the result should have Indiana fans and bettors concerned. Tyreke Evans replaced Oladipo in the starting lineup and finished with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting in 24 minutes. Bojan Bogdanovic was the primary beneficiary in Oladipo’s absence, leading the team in points (21) and shot attempts (14).
