The Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks are each a perfect 2-0 in 2022. Both teams have been off since Monday when the Warriors took out Miami 115-108 and the Mavericks downed Denver 103-89.
Golden State is a 5.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 214.5.

Dallas won two of three games in the season series last year. All three head-to-heads were high scoring, with each games totalling above 235 points. With the NBA’s best record, it’s not surprising to see Golden State come into Wednesday with wins in five of their last six road games. They’ve also been a solid cover option this year, going 22-12-2 against the spread overall and 9-6-1 ATS on the road. The total has gone Over in the Warriors’ last seven trips to Dallas.
The Mavericks are clinging to a playoff spot as they sit one game above .500 on the year and have a 9-8 record at home. They’re 18-19 ATS and have failed to cover in 10 of 17 home dates. The total has gone Under in eight of Dallas’ last nine home games and four of their last five overall.
Golden State Warriors
It was Jordan Poole and Canadian Andrew Wiggins who led the way in the win against Miami. Poole scored a game-high 32 points off the bench, while Wiggins added 22 points and six rebounds. It was a quiet night for Steph Curry, who finished with a season-low nine points, but did add 10 assists. It was a blip on the radar for Curry, who is fourth in league scoring with 27.2 points per game.
Draymond Green has had a major impact for the Warriors this year and has even garnered some MVP consideration. Green finished with five points, eight rebounds and 13 assists against Dallas, while also adding four blocks and a steal. He is averaging 8.3 ppg and leads Golden State in rebounds (7.9), assists (7.7) and blocks (1.2).
While Klay Thompson won’t be ready to go against Dallas, it looks like Curry’s fellow Splash Brother is close to returning to the lineup for the first time in over two years. Thompson hasn’t played since suffering a torn ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, followed by a torn Achilles during training a year later. He warmed up before the Miami game and could make his return at home Sunday against Cleveland.
Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic led the way on Monday, finishing with 21 points, eight rebounds and a season-high 15 assists. Dwight Powell and Reggie Bullock each added 15 points, helping Dallas match their season-long win streak at three games. Kristaps Porzingis missed the game after entering COVID protocols in the morning, meaning he’ll likely be out Wednesday as well. Doncic is averaging team-highs in points (24.9) and assists (8.8), while Porzingis averages 20.6 ppg and has a team-high 1.7 blocks. Both players are averaging a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game.
Boban Marjanovic, Trey Burke and the recently signed Isaiah Thomas are also in COVID protocols. Marjanovic and Thomas have been ruled out against Golden State, while Burke is listed as questionable. Willie Cauley-Stein (personal), who hasn’t played since Nov. 27, will remain out Wednesday.
