The Golden State Warriors are one victory from the Western Conference Finals and 3-point favourites on the NBA odds to finish off the Grizzlies in Game 5 in Memphis on Wednesday.

Warriors vs. Grizzlies NBA Betting Odds

Memphis has been a great story this season and Ja Morant has launched himself into superstardom and might be the most exciting player in the NBA. This franchise should contend in the West for years as long as Morant stays healthy, but we think its season ends Wednesday.

Golden State would face either Phoenix or Dallas in the West Finals. The Warriors would have home-court advantage against the Mavericks but not the Suns. The Dubs are +191 favourites to win the NBA title.

On the updated series line with Golden State up 3-1, it is -3333 to win it with Memphis at +1136. On the series exact score, Warriors in five is -154, six at +262, seven at +605 and the Grizzlies winning in seven at +1462. That it ends in five games is -156, six at +259 and seven at +424.

The Warriors are 0-5 against the spread in their past five in Memphis.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State played without coach Steve Kerr in Game 4 on Monday after he tested positive for COVID, so presumably he will not coach this one, either. Assistant Mike Brown, who was just hired as the Sacramento Kings to be their next head coach, took over top duties. Golden State didn’t cover a double-digit spread but rallied for a 101-98 home win.

Steph Curry had 32 points (18 in the fourth quarter), eight assist and five rebounds – he scored or assisted on 50 of the Warriors’ 101 points and personally outscored the Grizzlies 10-8 in clutch time. Curry also became the first player in NBA history to make 500 career playoff 3-pointers. No one else had more than 17 points as the Warriors shot just 40 per cent overall and 9-for-37 from deep. Rookie Jonathan Kuminga got his second straight start with Gary Payton injured but was a non-factor in only five minutes. Golden State is 0-4 ATS in its past four after a win.

Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis played without Morant on Monday due to a knee injury suffered in Game 3. The team isn’t saying the severity of the injury, but teammate Jaren Jackson said he found out more about Morant’s injury on Monday and “it’s definitely sad” so that should tell you whether Morant has a chance of playing in Game 5. Tyus Jones started in his place and played well with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Centre Steven Adams had fallen out of the rotation for the most part since the last round, but the Grizzlies decided to start a big lineup Monday and Adams had 10 points and 15 rebounds. Memphis outscored the Warriors 56-42 in the paint. Canadian Dillon Brooks struggled in hitting just 5-for-19 for 12 points. Memphis could have won the game but allowed a Warriors 11-2 run in the final minute. The Grizzlies are 7-1 ATS in their past eight as home underdogs.
