Warriors vs. Clippers Odds, Prediction: Game 4 NBA Playoffs
The demolishing has Clippers coach Doc Rivers considering switching up his starting lineup. Will a promotion of his two most effective players in the series from the bench to the starting unit give LA the needed boost to level the series?
NBA Playoffs Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Warriors easily covered as 9-point road favourites in Game 3 at the Staples Center. The Dubs continued the trend of chalk walking in the NBA playoffs. Faves are 15-3-1 against the spread in the first seven days of the postseason.
Even worse news for the LA supporters: G-State is 5-1 straight up and 4-2 ATS in the last six matchups against the Clippers.
The totals in this series have been among the highest in the playoffs. Game 3 surpassed the 233.5-point total and the Over is now 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two clubs.
Los Angeles is now just 3-9 against the number as a home underdog this season. About 91 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are backing the Warriors to cover as 9-point chalk in Game 4 and 67 percent expect the game to go Over the 235.5-point total.
Sports Interaction doesn’t expect the Clippers to win another game in this series. It lists the Warriors at -500 to close out the first round matchup in five games. That equals about an 83.3 percent probability that Golden State wins the next two games.
Golden State Warriors
No DeMarcus Cousins? No problem. Golden State is proving its big man rotation is plenty deep without the former All-Star pivot. Andrew Bogut finished with 8 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in his first start of the year. And backup big Kevon Looney has made 14 of his 17 shot attempts in the series.
The biggest concern for LA backers is what Kevin Durant did in Game 3. The Slim Reaper scored 38 points in just 30 minutes of action. It was the most points he’d scored in a game since February. He’s burning every Clipper defender not named Patrick Beverley.
LA Clippers
The disparity of production between the Clippers’ starting five and the Warriors’ is a major problem for Doc Rivers. The LA bench boss is witnessing his starting unit average just 45.7 points per game in the series compared to the Dubs’ at 89.7.
A radical change could be in order. Promoting super subs Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell to the starting lineup might help keep things closer.
