Tuesday's NBA Betting Picks!
Hoop Hopes – Ricky Rothstein makes his picks for tonight’s NBA action!
Atlanta at Miami
The best chance Atlanta has tonight at Miami is if the Hawks were to sprout actual wings and fly to the baskets. It’s hard to see them getting any change out of Miami otherwise.
Miami has dominated Atlanta in recent years and, if that weren’t bad enough, LeBron is on a personal hot streak himself, either scoring himself or snaffling the rebounds. When he’s like this, there isn’t even a gameplan. Everybody just sits back and applauds. There’s no way to see this being close.
Hoop Hope 1 | Miami -9
Boston at Houston
The Rockets are beginning to gel and look like a real contender. At the start of the season, Houston had to adapt to a new style based around Dwight Howard, and the Rockets were hampered as well by a foot injury to James Harden. Well, that injury has cleared up and Howard has looked worth every penny Houston paid for him.
Boston is just good enough to beat the real dregs of the League, but the Celtics have no chance at all if Houston hits the afterburners. The Celtics can’t rebound and face one of the game’s great rebounders tonight in Dwight Howard. There’s only one way this is going to go.
Hoop Hope 2 | Houston -10.5
New York at Detroit
The New York Knicks aren’t a good team. They’re 3-6 straight up and against the spread, and their latest effort was so bad, a 20 point thumping from Atlanta, was so bad that even Carmelo and head coach Mike Woodson wondered if they team had any heart. They’ll find that out tonight, when they take on the Pistons at the Palace at Auburn Hills.
Home court advantage makes Detroit the favorite tonight but the Knicks can score more if they can get their heads into the game. They’re motivated to do as well, because they play Indiana tomorrow and they are sure as shinola not getting any change from the Pacers. Tonight’s their chance and they should take it.
Hoop Hope 3 | New York +3.5
