The Toronto Raptors return home Sunday evening to face the Portland Trail Blazers and former Raptor Norman Powell … if he’s available. The Dinos are favoured to win on the NBA odds.

Trail Blazers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Sunday is Toronto’s first home game since a tough 99-95 loss to Phoenix on Jan. 11. It wraps up the season series with the Trail Blazers as the Raptors lost in Portland on Nov. 15, 118-113 – the game was tied entering the fourth quarter. CJ McCollum had 29 points, and Damian Lillard added 24. OG Anunoby led Toronto with 29 points and Pascal Siakam had 20.

Toronto will not see Lillard on Sunday as he’s out multiple weeks following abdominal surgery. The multiple-time All-Star was having one of his worst seasons in years with trade rumours surrounding him. A trade is unlikely before next month’s deadline, but Lillard could force something this summer with the team apparently going backwards. A McCollum-for-Ben Simmons trade has been rumoured for months but Philadelphia apparently wants more.

The teams have split the past 10 meetings both straight up and against the spread.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers were 109-105 upset winners in Boston on Friday. Jusuf Nurkic had the clinching bucket late and finished with 29 points and 17 rebounds. He’s one of the more underrated centres in the league. Nurkic was a steal at the No. 14 overall pick in the 2014 draft. Two Canadians went ahead of him: Andrew Wiggins at No. 1 overall (solid career) and Nik Stauskas at No. 8 (bust). If you are wondering, and I was, the Dinos took Bruno Caboclo that year at No. 20. Oops. Nassir Little returned from a knee injury Friday and had seven points and eight rebounds. Lilliard and Larry Nance were out injured. As mentioned above, Lillard won’t play Sunday. Powell missed a second game in a row due to personal reasons so his status is unclear.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto snapped a two-game skid with a 109-105 win in Washington on Friday to complete a five-game trip at 2-3. Fred VanVleet hit a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 59 seconds to play and finished with 21 points. The Dinos caught two breaks there. Gary Trent Jr. returned from an injury absence and had 13 points, while Washington’s Kyle Kuzma was a late scratch. Trent’s return pushed Precious Achiuwa to the bench and he had five points and five rebounds in 19 minutes. Trent had 13 points in 29 minutes. Nick Nurse had been playing just two reserves – Chris Boucher and Justin Champagnie – while Trent was out. Boucher had 10 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes.
